  1. wow, z just went foul of third with that one, woulda been a 2B. then Ks 3rd out
  2. Ray Durham is supposed to be hitting behind Bonds all year. Len and Plesac were talking about it earlier. I'm not even a Giants fan but that's good news. Batting Feliz any higher than 7th is crazy. But I guess 3rd basemen are supposed to hit in the middle of the order, dude. durham is a decent hitter, but not great protection for one of the best bats in the game.
  3. wow, when i read this, it was like 1-0 on floyd.
  4. henry gets blanowned on foul tip to knee or inner thigh
  5. i've got just under 1 gigahertz processing speed, maybe thats the weak link. 2 run double
  6. my video feed only gets choppy when the actions starts. the interview is coming in perfect, the plays on the field, not so much.
  7. It's your bandwidth...Mine is smooth as silk. 1400 kbps, with the video screen still open and running
  8. yeah, i'm getting very choppy video feed. not happy
  9. If he's having a lot of good starts where he gives up a few, and a lot of really terrible starts where he gets creamed, and getting an average of 4ER/7IP, can't the manager and pitching coach's decisions help the team a lot on days when he's having a terrible start? I mean, when you see he doesn't have it, you can pull him early, and if your long man is effective, you still have a chance to come back and win. Marquis got 200+ innings last year, but maybe he shouldn't have, and we should be looking at Duncan/La Russa as contributing to his problems by leaving him out there too long when he obviously wasn't effective. This is another reason why I wouldn't mind seeing Guzman end up winning the long man role. If Marquis has a tank start, you basically have another starter so there's no issue with pulling him in even the first 3 innings. I can think of at least two occasions where TLR left Marquis out to dry after a bad start. I think one of which was against the White Sox. I could be wrong, but I think they were trying to "give him a lesson" or something. A lesson for what I don't know. here's his starts last year. gave up 13 @ CWS and 12 vs ATL warning, not suitable for small children http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/gamelog?playerId=4409
  10. i dont know if this was addressed in this thread, but is fouling off pitches considered a skill or is it pretty random across good and bad, patient and impatient hitters? cause that at bat with clement was devastating. looking at the cub lineup that game, who the heck was damian jackson?
  11. if we're going to be happy with marquis putting up what amounts to a 5.14 ERA then we're in trouble. its a bad signing, no questions about it. i'd feel a lot better about him if was signed for 1 year/ 4M. an era slightly above 5 and the worst in the rotation is my guess. hopefully we have prior and guzman to bump him to the pen. if one of gooz or prior is pitching well, this team can still win 88-85 games with jason pitching every 5th day imho.
  12. i dont understand the big deal of the ranking of the #1 seeds. the #4 in KUs bracket is SIU, it could've been texas. its not that often the 1 and 2 seeds meet in the elite 8 anyway.
  13. i'd be happy to win half the games marquis starts.
  14. i hope nobody's expecting shutouts from marquis. but if he throws 7 innings a game and gives up 4 runs each outing, he's better than what we had last year.
  15. what are the #'s from the line tonite??
  16. texas down 7 with 11 minutes left
  17. inexplicably tied at 50 now
  18. seriously, how bad would this team have been if carter hadn't come out of nowhere? 10th, 11th?
  19. uh-oh, pruitt's going to the line, hide the childrens
  20. is that 5 on randle? 2 points. if we we're playing anyone else i would be rooting against these guys
  21. what do you guys think of a coach's influence on their teams foul troubles? it seems weber's UI teams have always had a bunch of guys in trouble in big games, and he walks around with a woe is me face like we're being persecuted. augustine and randle have been infuriating in this regard.
  22. even with this win, i dont think UI is a lock. they only won at home.
  23. whats with the passed out old guy? that was funny. these are two very mediocre teams. one will be much better next year, one probably won't. :x
