  1. As I've said before there are a couple of options when Wood returns. 1. If the Cubs want to bump Rusch or Williams for the rotation, then either Novoa or Aardsma will be sent down and Rusch or Williams goes to the pen. 2. If the Cubs want to bump Marshall from the rotation, then he'll go to Iowa to get his starts. The Wood decision isn't the tough one. It will get tough when Prior/Miller return, as not only will we have a cramped rotation, the Cubs will have issues with the 25-man roster in regard to waivers as well.
  2. Not so far. Both players are off to great starts, but Pujols currently leads Lee in Runs, Hits, HR, RBI, BB, OBP, SLG & OPS. As far as fielding goes...Pujols has zero errors, Lee has committed two errors (most of any first baseman in the majors). The only major stat Lee leads Pujols in, is BA (Lee's .353 to Pujols' .341) Right now... Pujols > Lee With that said, all of this doesn't mean that much, because both players are tearing it up and aren't that far apart in most of the stats. But see, none of that matters. Lee was better in the numbers than Pujols, and yet Pujols won the MVP. Since Lee's team is ahead of the Cardinals right now, Lee > Pujols. What value is Pujols to the Cardinals if Izzy blows all their games?
  3. If he plays long enough, he'll break Reggie Jackson's all time strikeout record. Dunn has only played 4.5 seasons and is already almost 1/3 of the way to Reggie's record. He'll definately have a shot if he doesn't get hurt but would need to average 150 a year for about 12 years to have a get the record. He'll definately shouldn't have problem getting into the top 10 or 20 though. He already has the single season strikeout record (altough Jose Hernandez would have it if his manager didn't sit him out the last week+ of the year). Personally, I would like to see Dunn go for 200 K's on the year. With 18 so far in 12 games that puts him on pace for 243 on the year. Let the Adam Dunn strikeout watch begin. In the three full seasons he has played his lowest single year total was 168. When you have an OBP of 400, it really doesn't matter how many times you K.
  4. For those who have to go to bed early, be sure to look for the re-cap in the morning.
  5. No, he's taken a couple of walks. 04/03 - 04/16 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS Walker 30 8 13 2 1 1 20 6 2 2 0.433 0.469 0.667 1.135 And when you're batting 433, I don't think anyone should complain if your OBP and AVG are the same.
  6. Lee is still better! :)
  7. So far his defense has reminded me a lot of Shawon Dunston.
  8. Give the Reds a couple of months to drop out of the race so I can revive some trade ideas.
  9. I'm not too opposed to West Coast games. I'll get to bed after midnight here, but at least my daughter has headed to bed before they begin.
  10. My guess now that we have an extra pitcher is that there is two possible scenarios. The first has either Rusch or Williams shuttled back to the pen with either Novoa or Aardsma sent back to Iowa. If Wood is taking Marshall's spot, then Marshall will be sent to Iowa so he can keep starting in case he is needed later in the season. The crunch will happen with either Prior or Miller is ready.
  11. I'm hoping we'll be saying the same thing about Isrighousen by the end of the season
  12. Vance' date=' smooth, and everybody who viewed this thread -- I am so sorry guys. I just got home a few minutes ago and saw what I had done. Sorry about the monstrous avi. I fixed it. Did not even realized what I had done. I don't post much, but I enjoy everyone's comments on NSBB. Def. the best Baseball forum on the net. You guys are awesome. Hopefully I won't be a repeat offender. Thanks for the PM ndistops. I appreciate it.[/quote'] No problem....but you definitely have the record for largest avatar. I think it took up half the screen.
  13. 12. Sp's: Zambrano, Maddux, Rusch, Williams, Marshall Bullpen: Dempster, Howry, Eyre, Williamson, Ohman, Novoa, Aardsma.
  14. Well, Pujols doesn't blow.
  15. And Coffey gets out of the jam...though with that effort, he could be a candidate for the Cardinal pen.
  16. the pitcher was scared of pierre in the dugout so he let todd walker hit a home run? Pierre was wearing a really scary ogre mask in the dugout!!!! :lmao: Pierre did have a good game, but he would have scored with or without his speed.
  17. I think you are right. We play that song in my Spin class at the gym. "C'mon ride the train" is what it is called. Holy huge motherhumping avatars, Batman!
  18. I think we should tell Rusch his spot in the rotation is in jeopardy before every start. Either that, or only let him start against teams like the Pirates and Marlins.
  19. So which blows the most, Encarnacion or the Cardinals bullpen?
  20. I'm just surprised Hernandez didn't strike out.
  21. Let's hope the bullpen is still good today.
  22. Rusch looks like he really wants to hang around.
