  1. Not quite enough.... well, 1-0 looks good.
  2. Oh? When do the Cubs play the Pirates next? Well, the Cards better get their wins against the Pirates this week, because it'll be another Cubs 3 games, Cards ) this weekend.
  3. Just checking in on DJaxx opening night. BTW, I met Blauser at Mississippi Braves fan fest. Really nice guy and his in-laws live here in Monroe. Maybe we could get him for a Q&A...lol
  4. I can't wait to watch another sweep.
  5. Yes, yes it was.
  6. For the record, I'm not advocating getting Dubois to supplant Jones as a starter. On the other hand, our bench lacks a RH power bat, something Dubois could provide as well as a RH bat to platoon or semi-platoon with Jones in RF, something else Dubois could provide. Would you really want Bynum starting in RF if one is needed over Dubois? Personally, I'd rather have the Creature.
  7. He threw over 200 innings in 2002 and 2003. He hasn't been healthy in 2004-2005. We'll have to see if he's finally back to form. But it's not like he's never had a 200 inning season. He has. Twice. Back to back. Also, we would have never been in the NLCS in 2003 if it weren't for Wood. That game five in Atlanta was masterful.
  8. The last season Wood was healthy---> 211 IP, 3.20 ERA, 133 ERA+, 1.19 WHIP, 203 BAA. Yeah, that's not an arm I want in the rotation. I mean, let's keep Glendon "[expletive]" Rusch in the rotation and let Wood throw from the bullpen. I hate using the rolling eyes emoticon, but it is very appropriate here. Wood, even with his arm troubles, has only once in his career had an ERA+ below 100. I'm hoping Wood is healthy. He appears to finally be so. His value is as a starter, not a reliever. And when he's starting and healthy, he's as good as any starter we have.
  9. He would be serviceable in right field. He definitely has the arm for it. His power would make him ideal to have to platoon alongside Jacque. With Pagan out, I'd think Dubois would be a good player to have around right now.
  10. Cleveland would probably trade Dubois, but I don't think he'd ever be back on Hendry's radar.
  11. Pittsburgh just let this guy go? Prior to the 2004 season. From Bseball Reference,
  12. No, no, no.... but maybe we can get Dubois back.
  13. He's the real deal. Doesn't this make Pittsburgh decision not to roster him look worse than ours not to roster Sisco?
  14. Ortiz helps me out with 2 HR's today.
  15. According to reports out of Baton Rouge, Tyrus Thomas will enter the draft, but Big Baby will stay at LSU. Link
  16. Boston does it every year for Patriots day. They have a day game that starts at 11 am and the Boston Marathon is also today. It's a tradition. Yeah, but that is an 8 AM game time for Seattle fans. I think they should make sure they are playing an AL East or Central team for this series. Waking up to baseball. It doesn't get any better than that!
  17. Ortiz extends my streak to five. His HR also extends me to three in the Beat the Streak HR edition.
  18. Walker on his hot start: Link
  19. Shameless self-promotion. I like it! Who me? http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/images/smiles/eusa_whistle.gif
  20. Not so far. Both players are off to great starts, but Pujols currently leads Lee in Runs, Hits, HR, RBI, BB, OBP, SLG & OPS. As far as fielding goes...Pujols has zero errors, Lee has committed two errors (most of any first baseman in the majors). The only major stat Lee leads Pujols in, is BA (Lee's .353 to Pujols' .341) Right now... Pujols > Lee With that said, all of this doesn't mean that much, because both players are tearing it up and aren't that far apart in most of the stats. But see, none of that matters. Lee was better in the numbers than Pujols, and yet Pujols won the MVP. Since Lee's team is ahead of the Cardinals right now, Lee > Pujols. What value is Pujols to the Cardinals if Izzy blows all their games? Depends which numbers you use. Pujols won the Win Shares category, which is a pretty telling stat. You really fail to comprehend a comment made with tongue planted firmly in cheek. But I do think Lee led in VORP and RC. Win Shares still has a strong link to team performance as it is based on the team's pythagorean standings.
