    I hope this post was sarcasm. Because not only is DeRosa not one of the greatest Cubs...he's not even top 50.

    Personally, I think when Hendry traded DeRosa, he all intentions of getting Peavy. I think the ownership debacle along with Trib declaring bankruptcy put the kibosh on all that. Yes, I know there have been a lot of public comments to the contrary, but I think Hendry was restricted in what future financial commitments could be taken on.

    I may be wrong, but I think roids and hgh are illegal without a prescription because they can be very, very harmful if taken incorrectly. Or do you mean against baseball rules, rather than illegal? Yes, I meant against baseball rules. and if it's the harmful argument...if sometime in the future, steroids become as safe as lasic surgery, should they then become legal in baseball?

    I'll ask it again...why is chemically altering your body (steroids, hgh) considered illegal while lasik eye surgery is not? I'd think from a hitting stand point, artificially improving vision might help as much if not more than adding muscle mass.

    LSU is going to give Austin Ross the start tonight instead of going to Anthony Ranaudo on short rest. http://www.2theadvocate.com/blogs/linedrives This concerns me a bit, but at least it means Ranaudo would be available for the deciding game if it comes to that. Also, everyone in LSU's bullpen except for Matty Ott should be available tonight. Rumor is that if it gets close late, Coleman could return tonight to pitch out of the pen even though he started last night.
