In 130 games this year, Bonds hit 270/454/545. If Jones could be moved and Murton installed in right, I might would want the Cubs to take a flyer on Bonds. His defense in left wouldn't be much worse than we had with Alou. We'd need a half-way decent OF on the bench to fill in for the 30 games he can't play, but that production in the fourth spot would be nice. I don't know the dollars he will command. He made 19 million last year. Will he be cheaper than 10 million? I don't know, but if the market for Bonds bottoms out to an under 10 million price tag, he's likely worth it for one season. As hated as he's been, having that level of production would be nice.
