    You'd rather have Floyd than Jones in RF? A Soriano, Pie, and Jones OF would be fine with me for now. Eventually I'd envision Soriano, Pie, and Murton in the OF. No, but Lou played Floyd there. My statement was meant to imply that if Lou would try Floyd in RF, he should surely try Theriot at SS.

    Shouldn't you be working or something? ;) What are you, some kind of slave driver or something ?? I'm what you might call semi retired. (that's a pun, son.) And just for the record, I'm on my way to go see the mouse. just don't want you to idle too long....:lol:

    I think Theriot would be fine at SS. If we can put Floyd in at RF, we can at least try The Riot at short.

    The season is far from over. There's plenty of time to turn the ship around. Do things look bad? Certainly. There is also some positives as well. My hope is that what we've seen from the bullpen is an aberration and it will be fixed shortly. Our offense is scoring enough runs to win games and overall, our pitching and defense is preventing enough runs. I'm hoping the "luck" factor begins to even out over the next few weeks. In this division, we will have a chance if we don't scuffle too much more.

    I have in-laws just outside St. Louis, so I make a trip there with the entire family and then while the wife is visiting her parents, I make the drive from Edwardsville to Chicago. I have to pay for hotel and tickets, but I escape the airfare. BTW, if you want to see the Cubs in Arlington instead, I still have a few tickets to that remaining. :)

    I'm still chuckling over hearing Jim Hendry say we have the best bullpen in the division during Cubs Convention.

    I agree. 9th inning: Dempster 8th inning: Wuertz I'd like to use Cotts for the seventh, but he might still be needed for the long man.

    The Cubs have had a myriad of problems that have led to this record. You can pin some on the bullpen and some on an offense that erupts for runs one day and then doesn't show the next. I'm not worried as much about the offense. If we score runs, we'll be ok there. This team has shown it can score runs. The bullpen issues concern me. We had a 4-0 lead at one point and even chased their starter after four innings. That's a game we should win. I'm not sure what to do with Eyre. A change of scenery might do him good. Rather than shipping Ohman off to Detroit or Cleveland, why not try to trade Eyre?

    Well, I'll admit it. Right now, I'm doing a straight Cub ballot on the NL side with the exception of voting Dunn at the expense of Jacque. I'll revise my ballot a little as the season progresses. I'm up to a total of 1250 cast so far. I'm hoping to add at least 100 to that total today.
