  1. You're preaching to the choir here. Here's an interesting article on why the Raiders should no draft Russell. He compares Russell to Akili Smith. Hey how about that, comparing a black quarterback who he thinks will be a bust, to the most notorious black quarterback bust in draft history! That's like every good young white forward being compared to Larry Bird. I agree. Russell could just as easily be compared to Randall Cunningham than Akili Smith. In truth, I think he'll be somewhere in between. I doubt he'll ever be as good as Cunningham, but I don't think he'll be a bust either.
  2. Todd McShay thinks that the Raiders will still take Russell and that Calvin Johnson will go number 2, but maybe not to the Lions.
  3. John Clayton writes about the draft. Link.
  4. Go play in the street or something. He's allowed to have an opinion, no matter how baseless it may be.. Opinions are like assholes; we all know one.
  5. Yay for HGH! Sammy is a fraud and always will be. Yah for unfounded accusations! Idiots use forums to spew baseless accusations and always will.
  6. I think it means Thorne should stick to hockey.
  7. You sound a whole lot like your wife since you gave her that bunny rabbit thing, no? :lmao: Your wife just pmed me to ask where she could get one.
  8. Fred, That's interesting. The hitters are getting more agressive later in the game like they are pressing to make something happen. This was extremely prevalent in the extra innings game versus the Brewers. We allowed a bullpen pitcher to hold us scoreless for over four innings. This is a guy who hadn't thrown over two innings in a previous outing. We should have been forcing him to work deep counts so that Yost would be forced to remove him. Instead, several hitters in his last two innings swung at the first pitch.
  9. This has nothing to do with whether he should play SS specifically. The Cubs strongest lineup has Theriot at SS and Pie in CF and Floyd in RF defensively the Cubs strongest defensive lineup has Cedeno at SS, and Pagan in RF with Pie still in CF (and Blanco behind the plate) This tells me that the Cubs need to get rid of Izturis, Jones and find a PH-C so they can insert Blanco in later innings. I think Murton in RF makes for a stronger line-up than Floyd. Pagan isn't on the team and shouldn't be. Ever! A pinch hitting catcher is a waste. If he could hit worth a crap, he would be starting as a catcher.
  10. I don't think we're all saying you'll be wrong. But we had a series of threads like this all season last year, so there's some comedy in this....even if you didn't mean it to be funny.
  11. Don't expect much. The Cubs already have their one win for the week.
  12. Are you a big fan of the whiff without the walks or something? I like to see players possess a tool that you just can't teach.
  13. When Sammy gets close to 599, I may have to try to get some bleacher seats over at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington for those games.
  14. We've seen these before.
  15. prior has a medical staff? yeah...but I think this is it. http://www.jonmdavis.net/priorsposse.jpg
  16. Hahahaha I'm a better OF than Rob Macowiak and I have an astigmatism. I saw that Anderson is DHing yeserday. I thought he was primarily a glove man at this point? Brutal. I've heard he's the best defensive CF in baseball.
  17. He looked fine. No errors. He made the plays you would expect the SS to make.
  18. How long do you think Harvey is going to be at Daytona? I'm kind of hoping he'll be with Tennesee when they visit Mississippi in May.
  19. Why does everyone cite gold gloves as proof that someone still is a good defender? Even if I did believe that gold gloves were proof of the best defender at that position for that season (which is dubious, but for the sake of avoiding that argument, I'll concede), isn't it possible for defensive ability to rise and fall like hitters often do with their hitting prowess. Izturis has not won a gold glove since 2004. It's possible that his defense has slipped. It's not like he was an annual winner. He won one gold glove. Even if that was a recognition of his ability in that season, could it be akin to a hitter having a career year and then returning to earth? What is known is that Izturis is a black hole with the bat. Theriot provides some value with the bat. Taking offense and defense into account, Theriot >>> Izturis, and it's not even close.
