  1. Good job! I voted 25X each inning today while watching the game! :D
  2. Oh he makes sense, like when he calls Cox classless when Cox and the Braves organization is the epitome of class. Like when he criticizes the Braves manager for doing exactly what he does. He complains about the Braves whining over pitches when his CF does it every at bat. LaRussa is a hypocrite. Plain and simple.
  3. Hell, Fred. That's more detailed than the press notes.
  4. We have just about 23 hours left to cast as many votes as we can for Derrek Lee to make the All-Star Game as the firstbase starter. Voting ends at 11:59 PM ET Thursday. Make sure to vote as often as you can today.
  5. Dunn could be the player to provide the protection Dusty wants behind Ramirez. That means that Walker could move back to the top. Walker at number one or two does solve the OBP problem ahead of the bashers. While Dunn may only be hitting .243, his ability to take a walk make up for that. He gets on base and it doesn't matter if you do that with a walk or a hit.
  6. Brock at 25 had a .280 avg, 83 SB, and 32 HR. Patterson going into this season had a .262 avg, 71 SB, and 57 HR. They appear pretty similar to me. Will Patterson be another Lou Brock? It's doubtful, but the comparisons are there. On another note, how did a thread about LaRussa turn into Baker bashing? Don't we have plenty of those. Back to point. LaRussa is a hypocritical whiner. He gripes and whines when it suits him. He's a puss.
  7. I don't want Preston Wilson, period. If it costs Cedeno, I really dont Wilson.
  8. Hell, if Dunn is on the market, I'd be willing to offer Mitre, Wellemeyer, Nolasco and Dopirak. If they didn't bite, feel free to substitute Lewis, Murton, or Hill for any one of those. Dunn would be the difference maker in our line-up. Imagine this: Patterson Walker Lee Dunn Ramirez Burnitz Barrett Perez =P~
  9. LaRussa is complaining about something? I'm shocked!
  10. I'll be at 3 of the 4 in Atlanta. I'm hoping we win all three!
  11. I would hop on, but I'm too busy trying to get my Jason Dubois BandWGN out of the ditch.
  12. Are those autographed cards of Wood, Prior, and Zambrano?
  13. Can we sticky this so I won't forget?
  14. Len is much, much better than Chip. Stone was better than Brenly, but he's growing on me. The knowledge of the game alone that Len brings makes him head and shoulders better than Chip.
  15. Check this out from Peter Gammon's article. Congrats Len and Bob!
  16. That's good news. If he's already throwing 2 IP, he might only be a month or so away.
  17. Walker expresses that he's comfortable at the top of the order. He also defers to what he calls Dusty's knowledge and says Corey can "carry a team." Walker sounds like the consumate teammate in those regards. He's expressing his desires while stating that he knows his manager has reasons and he respects that. Wait a minute Vance. Are you saying that Paul Sullivan is trying to start controversy? That's unfathomable. I'd never say that. ;) All, I'm saying is that if you want to read the best coverage of what's going on, you should check out the Daily Herald.
  18. Before everyone jumps on Walker, the Daily Heraldgives a different take. Walker expresses that he's comfortable at the top of the order. He also defers to what he calls Dusty's knowledge and says Corey can "carry a team." Walker sounds like the consumate teammate in those regards. He's expressing his desires while stating that he knows his manager has reasons and he respects that.
  19. Another 100 votes cast today. Let's get this ball rolling. Voting ends on Thursday so we have less than a week to close the gap. Everyone needs to vote 100 times a day. With a high speed connection, it only takes 15-20 minutes.
  20. I'm likely taking mine right up to the deadline. :P
  21. I also think Bruce is the most reliable of the beat writers as well. When he says something, you can usually take it to the bank.
  22. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of Lawton. Could we get Lawton for a package of Pignatello and Leicester?
  23. And that's exactly what you would expect him to say to keep the fan base interested. Also, Lawton isn't your typical salary dump. He's a FA after this season, so once Pit decides they are out of it, it would be wise to sell him to the highest bidder.
  24. If that's the case for this year, he's going to finish way below his career norms. I think it is interesting that it appears he is performing right at his career levels for this season. I don't know what it would take to get him. Pittsburg was playing well, but have taken a step back. They aren't going to get into the play-offs and Lawton is a FA. If we eat all the contract, we might could get him for a mid-level prospect.
