  1. This year, I'm Stephen to IMB's Jerry, so I'm going to make my thoughts known here. IMB can check in and make the final decision, and if he goes AWOL, then I'll settle on a pick. I see Dallas having a few needs coming into the draft. The could use a safety, offensive line help, linebacker, and defensive line. While many think they'll draft a receiver after trading TO, word out of the Ranch is that they like the young core of receivers behind Roy Williams. There's not a lot of starting spots up for grabs in Dallas, so they could also look at BPA, but probably wouldn't take a TE as they have depth there. Looking at my board, Ron Brace might be a good selection here. He's a good sized DT. If the Cowboys think he's large enough to play in the middle of the 3-4, they could go with him. Other possibilities at this spot could be Connor Brown, Paul Kruger, or Patrick Chung. For those who think the Cowboys should go with a WR, there's Robiskie; but I honestly think the Cowboys won't draft a receiver with this pick. I wouldn't either. I'd like to take an offensive lineman here, but I don't see any that justify picking them here.
  2. You better have saved a spot for last year's champion!
  3. According to Ken Rosenthal, Pedro is seeking a deal that pays him around 5.5 million and then would include 5 million more in possible incentives. That puts a dollar figure on what it might take to sign him. Link. I think he's a little risky at that dollar amount, but if he looks good throughout the WBC, it could be a gamble worth taking.
  4. I like Jake and a few years ago, I really hoped he'd stick at catcher. It's not going to happen.
  5. I've waited a couple of weeks on Sterling, so now we'll move on to the next person. I'll PM the next person to choose.
  6. He's in a heated contest with Pryor. Richard Pryor's dead, dude.
  7. Ivan Rodriguez had one hellova game today. (4 for 4 with a walk). I think I'm most surprised by the walk Any interest?
  8. Dusty put Jacque Jones in at first base yesterday. Here's hoping that Dusty uses Jones there some when the season begins, pushing Joey Votto to the bench. :-))
  9. I wonder how Tim feels about this. :-"
  10. Will D.J. LeMahieu be around for the Cubs pick? The Cubs could get Theriot's heir apparent by drafting another LSU shortstop.
  11. He's going to pitch for the Royals? Now I really do feel bad for Juan Cruz.
  12. If Koskie is over his health issues and can hit like he did before leaving the game, I think Koskie would be most valuable as the last spot. I'd like to see Gathright left off and the bench be composed of Johnson, Hoffpauir, Koskie, Miles, and Bako.
  13. The Cowboys have traded CB Anthony Henry to the Lions for QB Jon Kitna.
  14. Albert Haynesworth signed 7/100 deal with the Redskins. Link.
  15. According to John Clayton, the Cowboys have made the decision to keep Terrell Owens.
  16. OPS+ last 3 years: Ibanez: 124, 121, 125 Anderson: 97, 114, 94 They are not the same player by a long shot. Does Anderson makes some of that back with his defense? He's no stud but I thought I remember reading that Ibanez was a butcher in LF. Anderson may be slightly better in the OF, but both of these guys best position is DH.
  17. OPS+ last 3 years: Ibanez: 124, 121, 125 Anderson: 97, 114, 94 They are not the same player by a long shot.
  18. Thanks for the heads up. I'm so antsy for baseball, I'm going to watch this game as if I have no idea what happens.
  19. Thank-you. I like Jake Fox, but he doesn't provide any value as a catcher on the roster. If he's on the roster, he's going to be a 1b/3b/lf. He doesn't offer much value as a rf either. For that, I think we could do better and should do better.
  20. The games I'm planning on going to will be easy to get on the secondary market, I assume. So, when I got through I bought six bleachers to the Saturday game versus the Cards in July. I'm actually hoping to convince the family to go to that game as that's around the time we'd be in St. Louis anyway. But, if not, I figure that's a game that will be easy to unload.
  21. Jake Fox can't play C. I didn't mean Fox as the 2nd C, I meant only as an emergency catcher. If by emergency, you mean we don't plan on winning and want to watch a lot of dropped pitches. ok.
  22. I got through once and got 6 bleacher seats to the July 11 game vs the Cardinals. I'm about to call it quits since I have to change schools right now.
  23. If we did sign Manny, I'd need a new pair of pants.
  24. I'm not taking off work this year, and likely won't have the time to be on the computer much during the on-sale time. I'm planning a trip to Wrigley in the middle of May, but those tickets shouldn't be hard to get, so whatever I get I get. Does anyone know if the dugout box, bullpen box, and bleacher box seats are being sold separately like usual, or will they go on sale Friday as well?
