  1. I was teaching in Venezuela and watched it in spanish, my Spanish improved greatly. that said is this injury to D. Lee that depressing that we have givin up on this season? *L* thinking of the good-ole-days. I am still hoping for this year
  2. Most of are here from the Cubs.com board, thanks to Tim. Though this is the second best place to talk about the Cubs, the first is around my BQ with a beer and the game on. Welcome
  3. Pedro shouldn't even be in this group if you go back 20 years, then it would be Eckersly or Schmoltz on this list Schmoltz being the most versitile. Overall Clemens moist feared Maddox most frustrating to face. Lights out good Eckersly. The one I would not a fast ball thrown at my head Randy
  4. Holy cow, here is a shock for both of us..I completely agree with your assessment.
  5. forget the last hurrah, if he goes anything over 17 wins he should be resigned. He is a born again athlete who actually hired a trainer in the off season. Amazing how those trainers actually work ie: Ken Griffey
  6. So did I, and I'm worried that could be optimistic. It's not the head to heads against the Cards that will be their downfall. I think they can win 9 or 10 against them. But that doesn't mean they'll be the better team over 162 games. It's the Cubs way to allow Pittsburgh and Cincy to destroy your postseason hopes. Similar thoughts but I would put it closer to Millawakee for us
  7. Exactly!!! Classless fans
  8. agreed, makes the game a bit more exciting
  9. Ya!!!! just won a bet, another teacher said that G.W. would bounce it in front of the plate. Way to go G.W. first thing I have liked out of you.
  10. No, I think with that hair of his and the threat from Hillary Clinton John doesn't have a chance, he should be satisfied with winning the senate.
  11. the principal knows that I would take a personal day before missing the Cubs game, so he allows me to turn it on in my class. Rational is that openning day is always history and politically Bush will be there.
  12. who did that? Sammy Sosa and before anyone corrects me, he was 29. Either way, it's still not natural. When did you put him on the scale? A. They are wrestling coaches and can judge these thing pretty well B. They work for the carnival during the summer gueesing weights
  13. I agree. me too, just had to take a shot at defending him
  14. I dunno man, Sammy with the Rangers looked like around 170. He was pretty scrawny. Sammy though was barely out of his teens. David robinson went to Naval Academy at 6'1" left 7 ft. Flo Jo was accused but it her muscle growth was well documented over a period of time, which anatomy/Physiologist all conquered that it was more than feasible to gain that muscle. Suspicion occurs when it is over 15 pounds of muscle in less than 6 months. (comes from Lance Johnson "Mr. Texas" http://www.lancemjohnson.com/ He teaches across the hall from me)
  15. Wow Vejay Sing? and a Pagan How about the true star Augie Ojeda probably one of the capacino makers the Cubs ever had. Dusty needs him, and he is my personal favorite. who is that real speedster?
  16. spring training performance doesn't count for grissom. please refer to his 1996 numbers if you wish to evaluate his ability. Then that makes him a top candidate for Dusty's team.
  17. had the same thing 20 min. after surgury I was in rehab doing a set of excercises for the knee. I could move the knee the surrounding muscle is a bit sore, but I am 45 he is 28 and a pro-athlete (though I know he wishes he had a body like mine *LOL*) I bet he won't throw off the mound for a week but throwing isn't out of the question and full-range (with soreness) in 2 weeks.
  18. My assessment as well
  19. Not here, we will pick you up and buy you a cup of coffee, they will still be in the back of the pick-up though. Depends on circumstance. In texas though we have a phone # on the back opf our liscense that you can call for free road side assistance. A crazy state law that we pay for.
  20. I am sure you will be home shortly after they win, because on that day world peace will be declared.
  21. Exactly
  22. I apoligize, I am wrong it isn't like poker, I actually watched the whole Sweden/USA match.
  23. that is amazing that anybody with their resources or potential resources (with the money they make ) don't all have six packs.
  24. I expected more out of Sammy, I expected him to at least fight and prove those years weren't flukes, Even if it was only for one year. Have a backbone
  25. I expected more out of Sammy
