  1. what actually is this years budget, soriono is not getting paid 130 mill this year. Knowing that what is the true per this year expenditure on labor in the dugout. (not including the towel boy)
  2. I agree, this is where stats people need to leave because Carlos's emotions and the ability for them to pump up a team and fans is worth 4.8 million alone And Izturis drives in runs with his glove.Stupid stat heads. I thunk I struck a nerve???
  3. Are they mad about the beer or the fact he had a Red sox Uniform of and the beer company didn't pay MLB for the rights to the Red Sox name?
  4. I agree, this is where stats people need to leave because Carlos's emotions and the ability for them to pump up a team and fans is worth 4.8 million alone
  5. Isn't he slightly ahead of Greg Maddox?
  6. thanks len for letting us get into part of your mind. Scary thought isn't it.
  7. Now here is rant just waiting to happen, what a waste of newspaper print print showing where kids will go to college. Do we really need to have a "National Signing Day?" why can't a kid choose anytime to pick his college, almost flies in the face of presonal choice. What would happen if one or more of these kids say I don't want to sign now, I haven't decided yet?
  8. what?? a guy that can steal 40 plus bases doesn't have a verticle leaping ability or lateral speed. As a track coach that seems strange
  9. Wow, a whole lot of stock is being put into a "what if" for Guzman. He has been doing the what if for him for a cpl of years. He is so up and down in his performances. I would like to see him do well enough in the minors and a cpl of starts at ST to become trade bait. I still say Miller and Prior will be the X-factor, we know they have the ability but is the shoulder ready for hard starts. Marquis seems to be the "put your head down and pray" factor. Marshal should be on the team because we need another middle linebacker.
  10. [quote name="baseball7897" The NL as a whole is not very good. There is not one team in the NL that scares me. Mets are going to have rotation problems' date=' the Cards took a step back in their efforts to repeat, Houston lost Andy and Roger, the Padres have a hole at 3b and at the back end of the rotation. I don't see why the Cubs could not represent the NL in the World Series this year. Obviously health is going to play a major factor for them, but I still think they have the most depth in their bullpen and rotation than any other team in the NL this season.[/quote] remember when they said that last year and the NL won the WS. why do think Prior has the key over someone like Miller who was once a Cy Yong candidate?
  11. That SS name better be Alex Rodriguez. If Prior is healthy and ptiching well he's too important to trade. can we throw in Wood? Reality is marquis will start, they paid (overpaid) to much to have him on the sidelines. Zambrano Miller- Love to see him return to his former form, and could, it is only his first surgery. Hill-Lefty Prior Lilly/Marshal- I like Marshal because he is big and strong with what looks like a high learning curve. reality is that the cubs paid for lilly so he has the spot.
  12. Can't believe I am saying this, my wife has given me permission. Really she is psyched.
  13. Izzy because we gave up Greg for him, but like everyone else Jason could slip into the role real comfortably
  14. A marching band that can do script Chicago, unfortunately there isn't an "i" to dot.
  15. wife is asleep, I am going to go, but need to see if she is in on it.
  16. Didn't want to start a whole new thread for one question, and it kind of /almost doesn't deal with ST. Why aren't the rest of the months tickets on sale and when do they go on sale?
  17. Glad N.E didn't win, they are such nice guys I wouldn't have been bothered much if we lost to them, the Colt on the other hand I hate. Ever since they snuck out of Baltimore. I want Peyton's (Payton) head a platter. I tired of hearing about him not making it to the superbowl.
  18. Well Prior hasn't caught the eastern equine encephalomyelitis virus (yet), so it's progress. no, but I heard bovine demensia is running rampant through many of young wunderkinds of the Chicago Cubs. I know our manager has it bad.
  19. If they have soap in the rr what's the dif. I clean stlla worse than some mens rr, and I am cheap.
  20. Bush regularly does punt returns, but not kickoffs. Michael Lewis returns the kickoff's. He's pretty good, he averages 24.7yds a kickoff, and has 4 returns of 40+ yards. To compare, Hester averages 26.4yds and has 2 returns of 40+ yards. It's bullcrap. Let me get this straight, not only does GW throw out first pitches at a baseball games he is now running back punts for New Orleans. Is that his definition of federal aid?
  21. His house would be burned to the ground, his kittens stomped, and he'd be thrown into the river with alligator bait wrapped around his body if he did that. Not happening. After NO fixed the Super Dome for him, there's just no way. That entire city would hunt him down and chop him into little pieces. It would make Modell look like the Pope. Ya, I lived in cleveland area when it happened and we thought the same thing and the NFL sided with Modell. His family is still not welcomed in that city.
  22. Well, don't you dare think that Saints fans give a crap about the feel good story. It pisses us the hell off. Most of my friends and I were born Saints fans and raised diehard Saints fans who follow all the stats, players, and watch every game, etc. It sucks to have the attention diverted away from a good football TEAM and focused on a good STORY. As Cubs fans, we've followed their stats, players, schedules, and scores for years and years now, just waiting for the time when we can revel in the fact that we have a good team and look forward to something good coming from the Cubbies. What if all that patience and devotion were suddenly thrown to the wind thanks to a "feel good story". It's bullcrap. Honestly though, there was so much talk about the Saints possibly moving, does this anull (sp) the idea or will this be a case like Baltimore Colts and Cleveland (original) Browns and he will sneak the team out of town?
  23. Tired of this PC crap with New Awleens or however you pronounce it. The "WHAT a wonderful story they have for the City" has gotten on my last nerve. I hope the Bears destroy them and then their owner moves them to San Antonio. (It's already been a tough Tuesday)
