    I want to say it was 04, but at that point the Kerry hate had only begun, so it might have been 05. I thought it was before the Kerry hate. I remember it being when he was actually still rather revered. Regardless - that post, LOST avatar. Not a tough choice. EDIT -- That vote broke the tie.

    Has Lou done anything to show you he knows how to manage a bench in a close game? First you have to GET TO extras. And letting relievers bat isn't a good way to do that. Score the run first, worry about the remaining situation next.

    Yea, but I think ARam has done pretty well on defense this year. Definitely no complaints from me. I'm not knocking Ramirez, but DeRosa handles the position very well. He does indeed. I think when Ramirez comes back, we could definitely use DeRosa's defense at, say, SS. :glares at Izturis:

    Yea, that was nice. You remember that one time when we traded Neifi to some team that's not on the north side of Chicago? That was cool too. We needed a replacement though, and Izturis was most qualified to fill Neifi's shoes.

    Cubs won't get Tejada. I have complete faith in this organization that, if they deal for a SS, it will be someone of Jack Wilson's caliber.

    Option 1 - Shop them like a madman, hope we get midlevel prospects in return. No team in baseball is desperate enough or pessimistic enough to take on the trade until the deadline though, so we have to put up with them for another 6 weeks in the hopes that the prospect we get in return pans out. There is also the risk that there are no takers, making the wait completely worthless instead of only mostly worthless. Option 2 - DFA them both now. Six less weeks of putting up with them, and prospects that already have proven they at least deserve a shot get said shot. I think you're onto something there.

    I already forget dude's name on the Braves that Marshall got to face twice. Cubs had no problem helping his ERA continue to rise. Are those numbers for Weaver made up?! Holy crap, Cubs could pound him out of the game in three innings and his ERA and WHIP would probably both still go down. Maybe the Mariners should work out a deal with that Israeli baseball team that Koufax is pitching for.

    I have the distinction of witnessing Tom Goodwin get five hits in a game. Sosa had 4 RBI in the first two innings, and the offense just never quit. Good times.

    I spent a long time in the South, and OMC definitely sticks more in my mind for his sigs than for being a Saints fan. Plus, Bears won anyway :wink:
