  1. I think that's the current best-worst arrangement as well, though Hill and Marshall are in a pretty heated debate over the bottom spot right now.
  2. Ken Rosenthal is right with you. He too is wondering out loud if the post-season might include Cubs AND Brewers. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6988608?CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=49 "Don't rule out the possibility of the NL wild card coming out of the Central division. The Phillies and Braves have faded in the East, and the second-best team in the West might not be better than the Brewers or Cubs. Keep in mind also that the Central includes three of the league's four worst teams — the Astros, Pirates and Reds. After Tuesday, the Brewers face those clubs 30 times, the Cubs 33. And the other team in the division, the Cardinals, isn't exactly imposing . . ." " More than 1/3 of the schedule is vs. the Astros, Pirates and Reds?? Wow. To continue on the idea of schedules, Cubs and Brewers only have 3 games remaining against each other, so their competition against each other is primarily going to be a contest of who can beat the division bottom dwellers the best. Hopefully in that regard, this week was a good indicator. As far as the WC hopefuls are concerned, the western division teams still have some beating up on each other to go. Dodgers: 6 vs ARI, 6 vs SD Padres: 6 vs LAD, 13 vs ARI - plus, they end the season with a 4-game series against the Brewers ARI: 6 vs LAD, 13 vs SD And in the east, each of the Mets, Braves, and Phillies have at least 16 games remaining against each other. It definitely looks as though the WC is a possibility for the NL central.
  3. For all the winning and inching toward first place that the Cubs have been doing lately, I find it more than a little disturbing that the Cardinals have stayed within three games of them.
  4. The way those two guys have been lately, the Brewers could get through this injury without a blink.
  5. TB is trailing Boston 13-2 after the THIRD inning. If they don't come back, it will be their 11th loss in a row.
  6. Did Ward punch him in the face on the way by?
  7. They have that big old W on their hat, that's why.
  8. Q: What's the best way to keep the game tied? A: Apparently, give the ball to Ohman.
  9. Izturis is sending Ramirez all kinds of mixed signals. Aramis won't know what to think.
  10. They just said on the radio that Lou offered the night off to Soriano as well. I guess that means Pie would have played, but still. What's with trying to put every last useless hitter into the lineup on the same day?
  11. Who the hell does KoJock think he is? Someone who can actually hit?!
  12. Hopefully Marshall is done getting into trouble and this run is all it takes. I'm not sure if the Cubs have another run in the mix today.
  13. Make that 18. In the 3-1 win on Tuesday, the Cubs offense was done after the 3rd.
  14. Below. He'll get a hit, but the game will last 17 innings, and Hill will be 1 for 8.
  15. I'm going with less than 1 to 1. 8 pitches?! Ninja please.
  16. I didn't even know he was still on the team?!!? Oh he's there alright. Hasn't been on base in over two weeks (in other words has done absolutely nothing in over two weeks), but he's there. He scored the tying run on Sori's walkoff against colorado ten days ago. As a pinch runner.
