  1. The problem is they also hit a lot of homers. Coors might be the only away stadium where they survive... Don't they put their baseballs in a humidor up in Coors now? I remember hearing that the HR numbers have leveled out and become much more comparable to the rest of the league because of this.
  2. I think this provides excellent explanation for why other people on steroids haven't enjoyed the same success. I also really like the correlation between the first year of this newest model with his 73 HR season, as well as his absence in HR derbys. Really good stuff, thanks.
  3. Maine on pace for a 75-pitch perfect game.
  4. Dear offense, please make Maine work. At least a little. And if you could get the ball out of the infield and get someone on base, that'd be great. kthanksbyebyenow.
  5. I think that nine-pitch inning just put that inning among the fastest five all season we've seen from Cubs pitchers.
  6. Fred, do you have any info on how many times the Cubs' pitchers have gotten out of an inning on 6 or less pitches vs how many times the Cubs' batters have allowed the opposing pitchers to do so? If the Cubs are within 15 on that category, I'll be shocked.
  7. I'm pretty sure one of the guys on there is a guy I went to church with when I was little, but his video is on a different day than yours. Even if you both make it to the finals, you've got my vote by a landslide, as I'm pretty sure that other guy has a history for claiming the south side when it's trendy.
  8. No team that issues 11 walks in a single game deserves to be anywhere close to striking distance in the 9th inning. Luck can only take a team so far...
  9. He'd have enough adrenaline issues with the Cubs down 12, and he IS unproven this season, so tie game ninth inning may not be the best idea.
  10. Good lord. I really hope this is just a cramp like Pat and Ron are speculating. Z missing any real amount of time is enough to put a serious dent into the last two months. Though in all fairness, with the quality of Z's pitching today, I'd say it was getting real close to his time to leave anyway. Hold it down, Marmol.
  11. I'd say the Mets' sides of the innings have been anything but boring so far, but yes, this is treading further and further into ridiculous territory.
  12. Cause we need the offensive force Jason Kendall in there His presence in the lineup is the most offensive thing I've seen or heard today.
  13. Lou should get the pen going soon. With so many relief innings pitched lately though, I wonder who he should bring in first... :-k
  14. He hasn't given up a single walk since the last time you said that.
  15. Paul Sullivan is right, Ramirez doesn't hustle anywhere near as much as he should, especially for the kind of money he makes.
  16. 1 pitch 1 out is always nice. More of that, less walks please Z.
  17. Z's just excited about Kerry Wood being activated. Either he's having trouble controlling the adrenaline, or he wants to inflate his pitch count to make sure he gets pulled early enough in the game for Wood to come in.
  18. After two batters, I was this close to remark on Z finally having an efficient first inning, but decided I should wait until he gets the third out before saying anything. Glad he found a way to return to form.
  19. 2, and I'll say under, because no one will hit it that far off Z. The flyout to Floyd just now was a fluke.
  20. chat/flashchat.php I want OMC to invite us. Wait for it... Sweet. I'm set now.
