Cubs really needed that one. A nice, low-stress win with two big bats out and a third 0-5, where the rest of the team just goes nuts. I'm pretty sure this game was more on their starter than on our hitters, but that one felt nice.

Yea, the next thing I did was flip through the recaps on gameday to see what the Cubs had going on today that they hadn't the last few days, and it looks like KoJock has finally joined the team again. Good to see him producing. Now if Derrek Lee would wake the hell up, this time without our two sluggers would be pretty bearable.

So I was out for a bit and missed the first 3 innings. I come home and pull up the radio and line score, and I had to sit here and stare at it for a good minute to make sure I was reading it right. I'm still not sure I can believe that the Cubs are on the good end of this score, but I'll take it.

Ill bet you a years worth of premium that doesnt happen, we have to luck into at least 1 win I can't root against them either, and I do believe we will win at least one game this weekend, but no, the bolded part most certainly does not have to happen. The way this team has bottomed out, they could very easily find themselves 8 games in a row in the wrong direction. Here's hoping Lilly puts a stop to all that talk in a few hours.

I'm kind of disappointed that they got those two. They didn't come until the third game was already over, and Riot didn't even score on the second one. I thought they would finish the 0-fer.

Oh yea, and my bet is Friday. A change in rule in the way statistics are recorded will allow offenses to be credited with losses simultaneously with pitchers.

Only problem is, most people on this board were able to catch an inning or two of baseball this weekend, or at least a box score. No optimism to be found after that.

As of about nine hours ago, there were actually two more seats available in the same row. Two more guys were supposed to make the trip with me that day, but the price tag scared them off.

For some good news about Cubs baseball, this morning I scored tickets in the front row behind home plate for the series opener in San Francisco.
