  1. Nevermind, this was the prediction I was thinking of. Dude was way off.
  2. Wow. DLee and Aram in the same game. I'm pretty sure someone called that on the first page of the thread.
  3. Care to elaborate? Longgggggggg foul ball that woulkda been gone wtf is that word you idiot? I don't know, but I bet he'd be pissed at you for talking to him like that. Better apologize before he hunts you down. My guess is he knows where you live.
  4. Keep up the efficiency, Jason. Ramirez even gave you enough room to give up another solo shot, so keep going after them. Stay tough - this game didn't end after the second inning, it won't end after 7 either.
  5. yeah that worked out beautifully :D You give good advice. They should listen to you more often.
  6. I was a little distracted at the time, but I thought the run scored on a Sori walk followed by a Riot double - how was that run unearned? He came in to score on a throwing error charged to the center fielder. It all makes so much sense now! Thanks.

  8. I can't even get this game on mlb audio right now. I've never seen that happen before, and I'm more than mildly pissed about it.
  9. What do you mean?!? Cubs have been very good about not letting pitchers do the damage...
  10. That stuff Marquis is doing - "efficiency", I think it's called - is nice. He should tell some of his friends in the rotation to try it once in a while.
  11. Marquis is definitely efficient, and getting innings from him will be important today. A walk, a K, and a HR, yet 1 run and only 33 pitches. I'd definitely take a two repeats of that 3-inning performance this game.
  12. no the astros will hit a few more homers.I miss premium. Also, not to say who will get how many runs, but the final score will most certainly prove that it will take at least 3 runs to win this game.
  13. Yea, but at this pace, it seems this whole game will be done in about an hour.
  14. cause white dusty loves him some jacque too. ... and there's so much to chose from ....... 08/16 - 08/31 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP Ward 19 2 8 3 0 1 14 6 1 4 0.421 0.450 0.737 1.187 0.500 Murton 26 2 8 0 0 1 11 1 2 2 0.308 0.357 0.423 0.780 0.304 Monroe 15 1 4 2 0 0 6 0 2 2 0.267 0.353 0.400 0.753 0.308 Jones 57 7 17 4 0 1 24 8 1 11 0.298 0.310 0.421 0.731 0.356 Floyd 25 2 6 1 0 1 10 3 0 0 0.240 0.269 0.400 0.669 0.208 Soriano 13 1 2 0 0 1 5 1 1 4 0.154 0.214 0.385 0.599 0.125 Wow. With outfield production like that, it's no wonder our offense has been such a juggernaut lately. Un-freaking-real.
  15. cause white dusty loves him some jacque too.I'd bet my left leg that Monroe's arm is better than Jock's, and with his second hal, Jones should be starting against righties and lefties alike, so this outfield lineup makes pretty good sense to me. Well, other than the Monroe starting part. I don't have the numbers, but I can't imagine he's done much more against lefties since his arrival than anyone else on the team. I guess it's a wash between him and Murton though, and if it's what it takes to keep Floyd from getting as many starts, then I guess it's the lesser of two evils.
  16. The Cardinals disagree. Then the Cardinals are dopes, cause the Brewers are way better than them. You've asserted both that the Brewers are the toughest competition and that the Brewers are way better than the Cardinals. I agree that the Brewers are way better, but the same anomaly that would transfer the 1984 Tigers into a 65-win team if they were Cubs that year is working against the Brewers and in favor of the Cardinals, so despite talent, runs, or any other logical measure, the Cardinals will still prove to be the toughest competition in the division. Jayson Stark was right, unfortunately.
  17. So many choices... this one was tough. I went with Corey F. Hart, just because of how much he kills us. Though I hate the entire Cubs organization more than I hate anyone on this list.
  18. Let it go. The tighter you cling to your hopes, the more it'll hurt in the end. You're so young to be so cynical !! You don't have to be old in order to be old enough for this team to have made you eternally cynical. You saw the teams of the 50s and early 60s, so I'm sure you reached this level of Cub cynicism at a much earlier age.
  19. Let it go. The tighter you cling to your hopes, the more it'll hurt in the end.
  20. He's been pitching well since the all-star break, and it still takes two months for this to happen.
  21. How many innings is this now where we get two outs right away, then put two guys on before crapping out? This will be the third, at least
  22. I have this funny feeling that this trend is going to hold out one more game. Ya think ???? No. Cubs will win this game. John Kruk makes a lot of predictions too.
