  1. I didn't get why there were trade rumors about Nico and Seiya in the off season last year. I really hoped both of them would stay. Nico had a surgery, so I guess that was one of the reasons. Seiya was probably the best hitter we had last year, and he shouldn't be the best. He's really good as a #2 or 3 hitter. I really don't think the team needs Tucker in 2026. I don't know his actual average with RISP, but I think he wasn't very good. Let Seiya play the RF and Mo (or, somebody better) as a DH. If both Busch and Mo hit like the end of the season, they would be better than Seiya. That's the perfect spot for Seiya. Most likely, Nico will be a golden glover this year. He seems always hit .280 to .290 with really good/great defense, so he's all good. Don't trade him, just give him an extension. Honestly, I don't worry much about Shota. He should be fine next year, although not as good as the last year. With Shota, Boyd, Steele, Jamo, Horton, Assad... We have plenty of good/decent SP's. We just need to pick a better batter who can play decent defense. Only spot available would be the 3B, Matt Shaw, unless somehow, the Cubs trade somebody like Happ or Seiya. Shaw was a great defensively, especially after he came back from Iowa. But, he just doesn't hit well, although he was the best for a while towards the end of the season. He will/should improve, though. I'm feeling much better now than a year ago. That's for sure.
  2. You can't win a ball game with just one run. Score some more runs.
  3. Don't worry. I don't hate Tucker, but I never liked him, either.
  4. Now, I know how to beat the Brewers. Don't give them 2 outs. Finish innings with double plays.
  5. Oh, I didn't remember that, but that sucks. It has to be somewhat mental thing with both the pitchers and the batters..
  6. Always with 2 outs. They hit two home runs from Shota with 2 outs, just like two homers tonight.
  7. If the Phillies didn't intentionally walk Ohtani in the 7th, they could have won the game. The Cubs should have better chance against the Dodgers, if the Cubs win the Game5 on Sat, so it was a good thing, I guess.
  8. Yeah, that was a big loss for the Brewers with Peralta starting. Let's win Game 5. Go Cubs.
  9. I'm a big Shota fan, but I want Rea to start the Game 5. Just like Boyd did tonight, Shota could pitch well, but I feel way more comfortable with Rea, and I think most of you guys agree.
  10. To me and probably to most of us, Jamo seems to be the only good SP we have at the moment. Boyd or Imanaga don't make much difference to me. They could perform great someday, but they could be bad any day like they have been lately. I really wish Boyd will pitch well today. If he could pitch 4 innings with 2 or less ER, that would be good. The offense needs to score early. I'd be super happy, if the Cubs are up by 3 by the end of 4th inning, kind of like yesterday.
  11. I hate the Dodgers, but I like Kershaw. It's kinda sad to see him giving up many runs last night. At least, Yamamoto gave up 6 hits/ 3 runs in 3 outs. That made me happy.
  12. That's true, but Ben probably won't be worse than the Boyd's G1.
  13. I hope so, too, but I doubt it. He hasn't shown anything big, since he came back.
  14. I like Ben better than Boyd starting tomorrow, too. I know it sounds crazy, but at least let him start, and see how it goes.
  15. I think Boyd will start tomorrow, although I don't like it.
  16. The Cubs had good chance, because aside from Horton, Jamo was the best pitcher at the end of the season, and it's a home game.
  17. The Cubs could get better by selecting decent free agents (not like Ryan Pressly), IF Steele, Assad, Horton and Amaya are healthy, and as you mentioned, those younger guys would improve, more than likely. Hodge and Brown shouldn't suck as bad next year. Considering all the injuries, I didn't think the Cubs were going to win 90+ games this year.
  18. For the first two games, if Mo was the DH, instead of Tucker, it could've been better. At least, it couldn't have been any worse.
  19. I agree 100%. I really don't want him back, like I said, unless he's dirt cheap, which isn't gonna happen.
