  1. More SP stats that I looked at this morning. For the whole season (for Peterson, Gausman and Holmes, only after they joined the Cubs), 2 or less ER Shota: 20 out of 30 starts (14 QS) Boyd: 10 out of 20 starts (8 QS) Peterson: 11 out of 14 starts (4 QS) Holmes: 5 out of 8 starts (3 QS) Gausman: 5 out of 8 starts (3 QS)
  2. Trust no 1. Looking at the stats in the 2nd half of the season, unfortunately, Shota and Peterson are the better bets. I'm not blaming Shota and Peterson. They've been actually good, since the AS break. The other guys should pitch better. I hope Boyd will pitch well tomorrow. In the 2nd half Shota: 3.13 ERA, 3.76 xFIP Peterson: 3.19 ERA, 3.50 xFIP Boyd: 3.93 ERA, 4.72 xFIP Holmes: 4.26 ERA, 4.01 xFIP Gausman: 5.04 ERA, 3.15 xFIP Like somebody suggested, they might need to piggyback these guys with Assad, Civale and Rea (why isn't he pitching lately?).
  3. He's given up 3 HR's as a cub, so he is.😁
  4. Shota is the only Cubs SP with ERA below 4.00. That sucks. Holmes couldn't pitch 6 innings, 3 games in a row.
  5. Speaking of surprising stat, The Cubs bullpen allowed the 5th fewest runs in the 2nd half. The fWAR is the 5th worst.
  6. I bet even the Dodgers fans know Pete is way better than Pages.
  7. I think if we win 6 out of 9, we'd have a good chance to get the home field.
  8. Yeah, watching it. It's kind of scary.
  9. Super small sample, but HR/9 in Sep looks like this. Boyd: 0.00 Shota: 0.50 Peterson: 0.64 Holmes: 1.80 Gausman: 2.70 (this is almost Jamo level.) So, 3 out of 5 have way below league average. The bullpen is totally different, though. 6 RP's have 2+ HR/9 in Sep. That's pretty bad.
  10. Finally, one of our SP's has higher fWAR than Ben Brown.
  11. because he has too many triples and HR's.😁
  12. How rare is it to have two players with 0.4 fWAR in one game? Pete and Shota have 0.4 fWAR at the moment.
  13. Not crazy at all. Peterson has been great in the 2nd half. Shota pitched well 3 games in a row. Boyd is the only one who needs to pitch better.
  14. The haircut + the weird looking high targeting thing by Amaya and Kelly.
  15. Shota pitched very well tonight. Lots of whiffs.
  16. I'm really glad the Cubs singed Bregman. I couldn't say that 2 months ago.😅
  17. Shota gave up only one real hit + two unlucky infield hits.
  18. Yeah, I guess Murakami and Montgomery.
