  1. yes, but not HGH.
  2. FWIW, Patterson's OBP is sliding down the last month. .310 now and heading south.
  3. Baker should have never allowed him to go 8 innings in his 1st start. :)
  4. OK, I was thinking statistically, not financially. Thanks.
  5. Patterson 279/313/426 Jones 277/315/486 Pierre 284/329/382 Many people here criticize Pierre and Jones, but aren't they comparable or even better than Patterson, who seems to be now a favorite here? What am I missing?
  6. good answer cheapseats. We tend to always focus on the negatives here to the point of obsession. Depressing.
  7. if Patterson was still with the Cubs we would b moaning about his poor OBP.
  8. Actually, the Twins say it is the forearm, not the elbow. It is a muscle issue.
  9. I would have bunted htere also. I know everybody hates Dusty, but let's not make stuff up to hate him for...
  10. Dusty is bad and should be replaced, but we pick apart everything he says way too much. You try being asked these same questions every night and see how you would answer them so as to satisfy everyone on NSBB. These questions are impossible to answer--all he can say is I am trying as hard as I can, we have injuries, we are giving it our all, etc. He will be fired, and he deserves it, but what else can the SOB say? How much blood do we want from him?
  11. Actually, I would say not. He has had a pretty solid 2 months here. A 2-16 period doesn't mean he is washed up.
  12. Patterson 2 for his last 16.
  13. Cardinal management knew/knows, just like Cub management did on Sosa.
  14. there would have to be a good reason NOT to approve Cuban. There isn't one that I know of.
  15. Thanks. I like a balance of information and opinions. I know the Cubs have been bad for years, I just refuse to jump off the ledge prematurely with every player who goes through a slump. There is plenty of room for criticism with this team, but lets not throw every player under the bus without good reason. I liked this site during the offseason, it brings me down during the season. I'll spend less time here, which will not bother anybody. :)
  16. The Hill and Jones bashing makes it difficult to read this site. I'd prefer to focus more on the positive than wallow in misery. To each his own.
  17. Many here decided they hated Jones when we signed him. They will hate him no matter how he does. It is sad.
  18. he is a converted catcher. They are rarely good pitchers cause they learn to throw the ball straight.
  19. sounds like you are rooting against him.
  20. The general managers on NSB.com gave up on Jones way too soon. The lack of patience here is disturbing but explains why many are posting on message boards and really not in baseball.
  21. McAllister from Chilicothe IVC is pitching Friday night in Joliet at the IHSA finals. He can really bring it and is moving up the draft boards.
