  1. There are so many big mook OFs with the instincts of a cow that sounds like talk radio bs to me. Here's what ESPN says about his D: "Speed is Podsednik's game-he's among the fastest guys in baseball. He's a reliable, and sometimes spectacular, center fielder, covering the considerable gap between Jenkins in left and the team's 2004 right-field combo of Brady Clark and Ben Grieve. Podsednik also throws well." It also says this in the scouting report: Plays A Deep Center Field And Is Only Average Out There; Does Not Read Balls As Well As When He Is In Rf
  2. Really? I was listening to the radio yesterday and they were talking about how he was pretty underwhelming on defense and how he gets really bad jumps on balls. I don’t watch the White Sox so I really can’t say but that’s what I heard.
  3. WHEW. Good to hear that it wasn't another Cubs pitcher going down with an injury. We have enough of those already.
  4. After all of the celebrating, I would probably think about my grandpa. He was a Cubs fan his whole life (and was actually their cook for a year or two during spring training when they were at Catalina Island) and it really is a shame that he could never see a championship during his lifetime. Even in the last days of his life, we talked about the Cubs every time I went to visit him.
  5. The entire Cards team will catch mono from Jim Edmonds and collapse in the second half. The Cubs will then dominate the national league after trading for Adam Dunn. Ronny Cedeno will win rookie of the year after hitting .450 in the second half.
  6. Wow, nice line from John. Is there any chance that we might be able to use him as trade bait? If he puts up another couple of good lines, I wouldn't mind seeing what sort of value we could get for him. He probably isn't going to be a starter in the majors for us and teams might like the fact that he has some major league experience.
  7. Why would we want Rodgers? I know I certainly don't.
  8. Len needs to stop mentioning stuff like that on the air.
  9. Three year splits for him:vs lefties: .258/.315/.367/.682 vs righties: .296/.354/.460/.814
  10. Wait til Neifi comes back. I bet Corey goes back to leadoff. Yea, he's probably batting him second because Hairston is in the lineup.. At least Hairston isn't batting 7th....
  11. Let Ronny out of his cage. He won't bite.
  12. I'm not even sure Stanton is a "pure LOOGY" His 3 year splits: righties - .231/.294/.352/.646 lefties - .255/.331/.364/.695 Granted, those are pretty close but they don't show that he can get lefties any better than righties.

  14. Jon said in a boxes and discussion thread a couple days back that he was put on the 7-Day DL. I was wondering if there was any more exact news on what was going on with him. Ron, want to fill us in? :)
  15. Does anybody know what is going on with him? He was injured and carried off in that game last week and hasn't played since. I haven't seen any articles posted on him since then so I was just wondering if anybody knews if this is a serious thing that will require a lot of time off or will he be back shortly after the SL ASB.
  16. I wonder if that was on the gun that was 3-4 mph off... :D
  17. Not to treeman, but to someone else. Relax there.
  18. JoBo should be in the Mexican league again. He is not pitching well. He does not have his former velocity. He doesn't have his former location. He is getting knocked around like a piñata. Send him packing now please.
  19. Not as much as Enrique. They would have absolutely butchered it.
  20. I can't believe he didn't go in the first round... He sounds like a fast track guy. He should be up on the big team by the end of the year.
  21. http://fantasybaseball.rotoworld.com/content/clubhouse_news.asp?sport=MLB&majteam=CHC  So Wilson is going to be starting the whole series. Great. He knows the ballpark?? What the hell is that? What, did he give the team bus driver directions on how to get to the stadium? If you wanna play the "knows the ballpark" game, Hairston has played at Yankee Stadium plenty of times while in the AL East. I don't think the stadium or team are very unfamilar to him, or Todd Walker for that matter. You need to know the ins and outs of a ballpark to play second base. Duh. You should know this since you played second in HS. It didn't help out Enrique all that much.
  22. But they aren't proven veterans. Come on, you should know that much by now.

I don't think the stadium or team are very unfamilar to him, or Todd Walker for that matter. That's not fair, Walker did play. He just wasn't in the field. Of course, Wilson's wonderful defense didn't help us out at all.
