  1. The difference was that the Red Sox's "Idiots" were Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz, Pedro Martinez. Our "Idiots" are Neifi Perez and Jose Macias. And Dusty Baker. So, Boston had all perfect players on their team? Perfect manager? No, I was just pointing out that most of the "Idiots" that were good clubhouse guys were also very good players in Boston. Our "clubhouse guys" are not good baseball players, and in the case of Baker, not a good manager. So, you feel Prior/ARam/Lee are not "Clubhouse" guys? Do you feel the general baseball world views the Cubs "Clubhouse" guys as Macias and Neifi?

  3. Thanks Roast! I appreciate it ! Stress...c'mon bro, this ain't stress :)
  4. Hey Roast, I am probably going to get flamed for this, but would it be possible for you to leave out "Jesus Christ" when posting on this forum. I apologize if this comes off as rude or calling you out, I just have been bothered by it for awhile and I would like to enjoy this forum without having my Lords name used that way. If the mods see otherwise, I will let it go. I just don't see a reason to use it. Again, I am not trying to call you out or embarrass you, just asking for alittle respect when language is tossed around here. Thanks man!
  5. I find this odd to be mentioned now, certainly the Braves want to keep the SS But, Chipper has mentioned this before, this is not something that has just transpired in the last 24 hours just to keep Furcal. I agree, classy move by Chipper (although he makes a nice chunk of change) however....I would be suprised if it is enough to keep Furcal.
  6. What the heck is a hot stove report? Never heard of that terminology. That is as old as "double play" ... well not really, but has been out for awhile.
  7. As expected, others are jumping on the AJ bandwagon. The Cardinals look to be the latest to get on... Read the article on mlb.com (front page for the time being)
  8. I like the move...Solid arm in the pen is always a good thing.
  9. Ramirez took a big step back defensively in 2005. He was much better in 2004. Really? Well, I didn't see him alot. Maybe I just saw him on his good days, but I was surprised at some of the plays that he made look easy. It was the easy plays he made look difficult, or for that matter, didn't make them at all. His defense did not "hurt" the team ala Moises Alou in 04, but it certainly wasn't Gold Glove stuff. I look for him to have a great year, in the field and at bat!
  10. Don't know if anyone else heard, but Kaplan just reported on WGN the deal is NOT close! I expect no trade will take place tonight. He did mention the deal is being worked on...but nothing is set and ready for tonight... Edit: This was taken from another forum, I did not actually hear this myself.
  11. 10 weeks after surgery, Kerry Wood has full range of motion in his shoulder. "I can move it almost anywhere I want, and I'm gaining some strength," he said. Wood expects to be ready to begin the season in the rotation. "I'm anticipating being on the mound in spring training," Wood said Thursday. "My rehab program and projection takes me to spring training, and I'll definitely be throwing then. I anticipate getting my innings."
  12. Stone also said one more thing, which was obvious, but encouraging: Jim Hendry wants to have a good offseason. He is motivated and positioned well for 4 reasons: (1) has more than $30M to spend (2) has decent young talent in the minors, which he can trade (3) he was 4 games below .500 (4) he finished behind the Brewers They better get used to finishing behind the Brewers. With the potential addition of Furcal and Pierre, no way do the Cubs finish behind the Brewers. I had a feeling you would chime in on that one! :D Sorry, had to :) I'm just a Cubs fan surrounded by Brewer fans in my office. I coach a High School Baseball team that is filled with Brew Crew fans and I have heard about it every single day since the Cubs finished below them. I am not denying they will be better than they have been the last 10 years. However, if we get stronger and they do nothing but get 1 year older. I don't see how they can compete. Now, if they add another bat (namely a 3rd baseman) a solid 4 starter and some middle relief. Sure, then we have a contest. Until then...I will keep betting the Cubs make the Playoffs while the Brewers take an early vacation!

  14. I agree. I definitely think Hendry will try to pursue other options. I just think Bradley would be a perfect target and would make the perfect project to test Dusty's abilities as someone who can manage a clubhouse. IMO Bakers abilities to manage a clubhouse are to play the veterans. He can't control the players like Bonds, Kent or Bradley. How so? I have heard nothing but praise from Bonds, Kent and other players Dusty used to manage. I am not saying Baker is the greatest manager, just wondering if you know something I dont...
  15. Hey Bruce... Murph on The Score 670 mentions you claim that the Cubs are interested in trading for either Adam Dunn or Bobby Abreu. He also says that Phil Rogers thinks they will in fact, sign Furcal. In addition, Rogers writes that the Cubs are extremely interested in trading for Carl Crawford or Pierre. Thoughts?
  16. Predestination
  17. I know it's real early, but heck...I need something to be excited for. GO MILWAUKEE BUCKS!!!
  18. I will wait and reserve comment until this is official.
  19. GO BUCKS! C'mon, can I get 1 team this year that I like to win? Well, the Badgers are ok...other than that. Big Ol Thumbs Down!
  20. Full story on mets.mlb.com I think he goes to NY and we sign Nomar... (fine with me)
  21. That is what the Packers did this past Sunday, up 17-0 at half. "Hey boys, lets not run the score up on these Vikings..." WHOOPS! A big fat 1-5 now !
  22. Those boys are struggling to find the history of Busch! Very funny stuff. Heck, I'm not even a Cardinal fan and I could list more historic players and memories than they did!
  23. Can I have my click back please...
