  1. Giving them to ndistops so he can go and root against the Bears just like you would, probably the best option. Fixed. Actually, I don't have a passionate hate towards the Bears. If it was a Viking game I might just rip the tickets up out of spite. I have roots in North Carolina as I spent my college days at Chapel Hill but never really liked the Panthers. Either way, it should be a great atmosphere and fun to watch a playoff football game in another stadium besides Lambeau. Have you ever been to Soldier Field? Yes, although I do not particularly like the inside of the stadium, the outside/surroundings sure do beat Green Bay...

  3. Ha, just recieved 4 tickets section 205 from a client who will be out of the country during the game. What the heck does a Packer fan do with 4 Bears playoff tickets... Hmmm...
  4. J.R. What do you drive? Or cars you have owned?
  5. what i should have said was worse production out of murton. i guess you could assume a healthy ramirez, but i'm wary to do so. and if you want to assume a healthy prior, go for it. brewers are still better. the cubs have the potential to be quite bad offensively in rf, lf, 2b and ss. And the Brewers have a potential problem at 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, C, CF, RF the only given is Carlos who always puts up nice numbers. The Cubs will be better!
  6. let me know when that happens. No need, you will be chearing for them in the playoffs while the Brewers are sitting at home!
  7. I'm not sure Hall catches the ball well enough for Hendry to have much interest. All kidding aside, he is brutal in the field. He will snag the occasional ESPN highlight, however...his day to day defense makes Walker look like a Gold Glove. Brewers have a nice foundation, I would argue there are many more questions to be answered by their roster than ours, yet some on this board seem to think they have the makings of a better team than the Cubs. Go Figure... didn't they win more games last year? I would say that lends some creedence to the idea that they are a better team. They certainly look like they are building a better corps than the Cubs. Yep, 2 games better than the Cubs. However, the Brewers did not have the injuries the Cubs did. I am not defending the way the Cubs played at times last year, what I am saying is I don't think the Brewers are even close to .500 if they had as many injuries as we did. With that in mind, I would take CLee over Murton and Jenkins over JJones, that is all. Cubs have a better pitching staff than the Crew, better bullpen, 3rd, SS, 2nd, 1B, C, CF. As a former Brewers season ticket holder and one who hears about it all the time at the office, I just don't see the Brewers making significant noise this year. CLee is a FA and in a contract year could put up big numbers. Question, will Brewer ownership actually pay him a potential 11+ ?? They have already moved Overbay for fear of what he would demand, and I don't see them expanding their budget to allow them to compete for a playoff spot. they lost sheets, by far their #1 pitcher (and likely better than any of the cubs' pitchers), for a pretty significant time. also, they didn't have a full year of weeks at 2b or turnbow as closer. fielder won't be much of a downgrade (if he's a downgrade at all ) from overbay. my plan for them involved trading capuano and prospects for blalock and signing weaver, but koskie's decent. they were better than the cubs last year, and they're still likely better. So can you honestly say if we have a healthy year of Wood, Prior, Aramis, they are a better team?
  8. I think it had more to do with Prince being a stud than money. Really? I have read several articles in the local paper with question to why they would trade Overbay now when he made so little. While I do believe Prince had some to do with it, Overbay and Lee with contract issues played huge in the decision to move "O"...

Go Figure... How about a friendly wager -- I believe the Brewers will outscore the Cubs this year. If the Cubs staff is healthy, I think we'll have a better record. But I like their offense more than ours at this point. Weeks played with a torn ligament in his thumb for much of last year. Fielder is going to be a monster in the future and should be pretty good in 2006. Sure man, they can score all the runs they want. I just feel at the end of the year, we will have a better overall record than the Crew. I hope our addtions to the pen and pray for a solid healthy season from Prior/Z/Wood etc... we can hold more games than the Brewres. Besided Turnbow and the potential resurgance of Kolb, their pen leaves much to be desired. I still don't like a 4,5 of Heiling and Ohka. I question Brady Clarks potential, is he a "one year wonder" or the real deal. I believe Feilder is good, however...is he ready to compete with the real big boys in the NL Central. Pujols, Lee, Dunn? (if he actually plays 1B) 1B is a power position and although he may have good AAA power, is he another Dubois? Don't get me wrong, I have a part of me that likes the Crew, I just don't see them any better than last year. Oh, that and the fact that I am married to the Cubs for life!

  12. I wouldn't say that yet... Very young infield with JJ and Weeks, Prince is also very young at 1B. Keep in mind you have very little protection around Carlos Lee, Jenkins is about it. I still don't see them over .500 next year. They have subtracted Overbay and added Kosky... While doing nothing with their pitching staff beside adding Kolb (you have to wonder why the Braves gave up on him)... In other words, not scared!
  13. How do you feel the rest of the Baseball world feels about Corey? It seems as though us Cubs fans tend to value our own players more than they are worth. In other words, do you see Corey being traded for a prospect or something similar? I personally don't expect solid major league talent in return for our streaky fake leadoff hitter.
  14. I think a couple did them awhile back, honestly I thought I read some mom and pop orginazation created them.
  15. Sure, remind me...however, this looks me in the eye everyday when I get to my office :) http://www.automobilemag.com/photo_gallery/0505_lotus_exige_4_445.jpg RE: Road America, got a chance to flirt with a Porsche Carrera GT this past summer...WOW! Freakin amazing, ... price tag: 495,000 ... !!!
  16. wanna buy it? I'd consider it, if I wasn't going to Deutschland for the next few years. How many miles? Deutschland...sweet! 79K, completely customized and a stinkin' rocket to drive! More than likely I will keep it as a weekend/track car. I look to take ownership of a Lotus Elise this summer :) Lotus elise? AWESOME! That TT would be a badass track car. You drive any of the tracks round Chicago? It is an amazing track car. It handles like it's on rails. Stock suspension seems horrible compared to the aftermarket setup it currently sits on. There is a great track near Joliet for AutoX I plan on being at next year. Along with Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. However, the Elise should be the ultimate autoX/track car! Don't get me excited, it's only January :)
  17. I still don't think a platoon of Jones is in order. Although it might be necassary, I don't think he signed here for 3 years at the money he got to platoon.

  19. .268/.363/.488/.851 .281/.349/.508/.857 One of these is Geoff Jenkins, the other is Craig Wilson. Craig can't hit the ball during the day? .274/.380/.505/.885 the past three years, just as good as Jenkins's .294/.366/.527/.893 over that time frame. My bad on the day stats for Craig, I looked at last years only... .217 (he was hurt most of the year) Geoff Jenkins is a very streaky hitter, someone who looks lost at the plate for 9 strait at bats, then goes 4-4 the next day. Craig Wilson is exactly that, someone we don't need in the outfield. (I am not defending J.Jones in this conversation) Last year Craig Wilson had back to back 0-fers three times in around 60 games. Derrek Lee had 7 in 158 games last year. That's a pretty baseless and ultimately inconsequential reason not to want Wilson to shore up our joke of an OF. Craig Wilson shouldn't have back to back 0-fers, he is not a power hitter. This is getting out of hand. Yes, Craig Wilson is a power hitter, a pretty good one at that. And whether you are a power hitter or not, saying you shouldn't have back to back 0-fers is ridiculous. In his best season ever, Juan Pierre had 5 back to back 0-fers, two of those lasting 3 days. Ok, I give... sign him up as another outfielder. Our outfield as it stands... Peirre Jones Murton Mabry Patterson Hairston

  22. His OBP and power are much tougher to ignore. K's are not a crippling negative. 16, 18, 29, 5 is not exactly a power hitter. He has some pop but nothing to write home about. His OBP is nice, but not telling of his whole game. Power is NOT Home Runs. I can't understate how important that is, and it needs to be repeated. Wilson's career .220 IsoP is very good, he's a good to very good offensive corner outfieder. EDIT: For his career, a HR every 22 PA's isn't bad at all either. If Power is NOT Home Runs, what is it then? Getting past first base by yourself. ALL extra base hits make up a player's power, and Wilson is very good at hitting for it, even if you only consider HR. At best, Craig Wilson is a poor mans Geoff Jenkins. With the exception that Jenkins is a better defensive outfielder and can actually hit the ball during the day. Craig can't exactly say that.
