Two words. Contract. Year. 2002 was a contract year for him as well, and he was suprisingly less idiotic then, too, and took the Giants to the World Series. I don't buy that for a second. He has the tools to manage more effectively this year and is doing a fine job thus far! -
Jones HR to me felt like flashbacks of 2003. He rounded first with a solid fist pump and the bleachers looked that of a playoff game! Awesome time!

...or paranoid. I'm just happy it's fairly minor. Do you remember last year when Prior walked off the mound in pain, and then pitched 4 days later? Just because it's medically minor means nothing. Prior is going to treat every little discomfort like a blown out elbow. I think he's soft. 2 years ago I would have called you out for that claim. However, now I agree with you 100%.

My concern is this... he has "normal" pain in the shoulder and is held back... then he stops his long-toss session and within hours is sitting in LA waiting to see the Dr. To me this screams something is seriously wrong.

For sake of argument, did Hairston's mental mistakes cost more games than Walkers defense? While I'm at it...I would welcome JHJ as startd 2nd baseman. I just don't have much love for TWalk anymore...not sure what it is. I would welcome Hairston as the starter if we had some sort of guarantee he'd be at his best. Unfortunately, he's never been a full-time starter of any solid quality, and starting him and getting rid of Walker increases the likelihood of Neifi getting 400+ PA. Well, that I wont allow :) ... I did find it funny that the Brewer TV crew mentioned JHJ as a "solid 4th outfielder" as his role... nothing mentioned whatsoever at 2nd. I can deal with a platoon of JHJ and TWalk at 2nd, I just don't think TWalk can deal with that.
