Prior to last night's game, USSoccer was taking heat for thinking that the wind blowing out would negatively affect the approach of our young hitters. I didn't think it would, but watching the game and looking at the percentage of swings they took at pitches outside of the zone, I think that's exactly what happened. Being beaten outright I can accept, but giving away a game you should win by abandoning the approach that brought you success all year is just infuriating. Who takes responsibility for this - players, Mallee, Maddon, front office? Do we need to assign blame? It's a very young team that was pressing against very good pitching. The front office, Joe and the hitting coach? They won 103 games and are struggling in the World Series. What "responsibility" are you looking for?
