  1. Especially when you could see the ref signal 1 and 1 and on the broadcast you could clearly hear the PA say "Fields shooting the 1 and 1" right before the shot. It's tied but Pitt should still feel pretty good considering Blair missed time and OSU shot 10-16 from 3.
  2. Who doesn't want the whole nation to see Pac-10 teams get blown out? Probably something to do with squeezing non-basketball into prime time slots, though they really need to have two on at the same time no matter what. Yeah I understand them not going late like they did yesterday, I just don't know why they go 1-4-3 instead of 2-3-3. You're risking lower ratings when that 1 game is a blowout. Yesterday was 1-2-3-2. Why not 2-2-2-2?
  3. Has CBS ever given any explanation for their 1st weekend schedule? I would assume there has to be some reason they want 1 game in it's own time slot and then 4 on at the same time followed by 3, but I can't figure it out. Usually Duke gets that exclusive slot.
  4. I didn't think the Pac 10 was very good but I liked a lot of the matchups. I had Cal, Arizona, UCLA, USC, ASU all winning their first round games. Arizona, ASU, UCLA to the Sweet 16 and UCLA to the Elite 8. Thanks to UCLA and Cal for not even trying in their losses. Thanks to James Harden for not showing up, Pendergraph for committing stupid fouls and their entire roster for deciding not to play defense.
  5. Horrible defense by ASU. Everything is an open 3 or a layup and they're not forcing turnovers. It's a miracle they kept it around 10 or less. Harden hasn't done anything and Pendergraph has been in foul trouble (3rd and 4th fouls were super weak) and they're 8/16 at the free throw line. That intentional foul call was laughably bad. He barely touched him and didn't even slow him down.
  6. Is there any reason they inbounded the ball to Bill Cole 90 feet from the hoop?
  7. What an atrocious call.
  8. This won't end well. I have UCLA in the Elite 8. They should not be in this position. Maynor is going to dish for a layup to win it.
  9. Stupid UCLA. They were up 11 around the 6-7 minute mark and Holliday had a layup that would have pushed it to 13 and had them on the verge of a knockout punch. He missed, they get a runout to get it to 9 and some momentum.
  10. he apparently wants to go to illinois, but that won't happen unless he wants to walk on. but jeff is bad, real bad right now. he may develop into something like frazier, but he's got a long way to go. Yeah, I think Marcus Jordan really needs a scholarship since his family is hurting for money. FWIW, I talked to Marcus after the NU/Illinois game at Evanston, and he said Davidson is his first choice. Does he have any high-major offers? I remember when he was a sophomore a lot of people seemed to think he would be a Big 10 talent. Then apparently he didn't get much bigger or better outside.
  11. Tell Mike Davis to transfer about 4 hours west if you don't want him. He can get 40 minutes per game and lots of shots. And were you not making the Derron Williams/McCamey comparisons like 4 months ago? Maybe that wasn't you. who was talking to you, beavis? LOL. You know you've seen those posts on here from multiple Illini fans. They were common last year and pre-season/early season this year.

  13. Illinois' transition defense has been uncharacteristically bad.
  14. But will the great recruiting classes be enough to overcome the bad bounces, breaks, calls and luck that plagues the Illini more than any other team in the country?
  15. Good work
  16. you don't? there haven't been any real surprises, imo Not huge surprises but BYU and Cal had the edge in their games. Butler/LSU was a toss-up.
  17. Seriously American, go to a zone at least just for a couple possessions.
  18. For anyone with CBS College Sports (613 on DirecTV) they have a studio show on all day with a ton of live look-in's.
  19. "16 going on 17" is in danger of becoming "This is our country"
  20. i get what your saying, but in the (Points= seed x round) format, there the most important games until the weekend. I guess it's gimmicky and different but that seems like a stupid way to run a pool. Much like the fools who just go 1-2-3-4-5-6 so you get no credit for picking the champ. I never liked the doubling format either. How would you do it then, out of curiosity? I've committed to the 1-2-4-8-12-16 format. Much less than that at the end and you can get no credit for the deep rounds which is what should really count. Much more and the first couple rounds might not matter.

  22. Oh my God they're playing like the dumbest team in America. While also choosing not to play defense or rebound.
  23. Thanks for showing up Cal.
  24. Second year in a row I thoroughly expect BYU to beat A&M only to have them get out to a terrible start and lose. Butler surprised me just because they played uncharacteristically but I guess that happens with a young team against an experience, athletically superior team. Nice 1-2 start for me.
  25. It has to have absolutely killed Direct TV's Mega March Madness subscriptions. That's $70 when you can watch any of the games online for free. Plus I can pay attention to two games at once this way with one on the laptop and one on the tv. They have 26 historical highlights from the last 26 years of the tournament. I knew the most sickening moment of my life would be included. Yet I had to check and for some bizarre reason, watched it again.
