  1. absolutely. he's so young, he should be the bears qb for the remainder of his career. (if the line doesn't get him killed) the bears aren't going to be great in '09 but that's fine. he's going to be around for some rebuilding the bears management clearly feel cutler is the future by making such a huge deal for him. i would not be shocked to see cutler signed to an extension at some point within the next year.
  2. urlacher on the trade:
  3. you're a packers fan? i can understand anxiety about giving up a lot of value in draft picks if that's your concern.
  4. i'm curious to see how kyle orton does in denver. many orton supporters have pointed out the bears offense doesn't have any weapons. many cutler detractors have pointed out the broncos offense has weapons at tight end and receiver. if orton is as good as many have said, he should really doing well in denver.
  5. Turn on the correct channel and the correct time for the match you want to watch. Go to a soccer pub. Hang with soccer people. HD! I'm tentatively ok with all of this. I love a lot about this post. Audio feeds from some English blokes and a Saturday final in HD is glorious.
  6. Even more, I think it is the most important position in pro sports agreed, but i didn't want to get into a side argument with some about that in this thread.
  7. quarterback is by far the most important position in pro football. the bears have solidified the position for at least the next 3 years. the nonsense about his w/l is just that, nonsense. the denver defense is horrendous and have caused them to lose. i can believe a bears fan not being crazy about giving up all the picks but i can't fathom a fan not liking picking up cutler.
  8. 2 first rounders and the neck beard. it's a lot but i think its worth it.
  9. YES! Its going to take a boatload going back to denver for me not to love this deal.
  10. i'll keep going for a fourth round but do anybody have a good draft website that i could use as a reference? i'm not very in-depth on my college football knowledge to go this far into the draft.
  11. and the Indians don't? Dude, they have Wood. And DeRosa. they were referring to the pitching.
  12. i'm not very excited right now either. i'll watch my fair share of games, i'll read about the team with papers, and i'll, of course, come to nsbb but i'm not nearly as excited that i've been in the past years (except 2005, 2006). i'm hoping that changes by monday but i don't think i'll be "all-in" until october.
  13. booooooooooooooooo. i haven't seen any hd feeds from espn this year anyway. i enjoy espn's coverage of the champions league, they don't make it too espnish and unbearable. i hope fsc doesn't try to put their influence on it and they should just pick up an british feed and use it.
  14. How do we know what stats are looked at in arbitration hearings? Who are the arbitrators? Baseball people or legal experts?
  15. is there a need for espn to "reset" the game? isn't there automatic restarting for each player when you lose?
  16. i didn't get to watch the match until this morning and 6 of the 7 minute of stoppage time didn't get dvr because the stupid "cramping" during the second half. -jozy needs to start seeing some serious minutes going forward. he was the the big source of energy and drive last night. -i want to punch hejduk in the face every time i see him. when he scored, i didn't want to punch him, but then i changed my mind after another minute. -beasley is very frustrating. he looks great some matches and completely horrendous others (last night). -i don't blame guzan for both goals last night but he makes me nervous as our #2. -i'm hoping for a 3-0 thrashing on wednesday night.
  17. I'm thinking we'll manage to squeak out a goal midway through the second half and win 1-0. Where is the game on tv? ESPN2 at 9 p.m. ET. the guide on my directv didn't have the game listed at all, until today. so i set it up to record manually.
  18. lol. "i can run all day with ya."
  19. I am the GM of the Broncos and I'm planning on trading Jay Cutler to the Bears, so I'll use our third round pick on his replacement: Rhett Bomar, QB Sam Houston St.
  20. i'm fully expecting guzman not to be with the cubs for much, if not at all this season. his inability to stay healthy throughout his career, the 25 man roster crunch, and he's lacking of options are all leading to disappointment for another top cub prospect. i don't want to be negative but i think he's a victim of circumstance as much as anything. i hope i'm wrong.
  21. eliminating the wedge? seems pretty overboard to me. if you eliminate anything on kickoffs because of safety issues, the league should ban wedge busters, those are the guys that are most at risk for injury. bizarre.
  22. i didn't see this posted anywhere, but the bears open the season at green bay on sunday night football.
  23. 1. 90 2. 10 3. 840 4. 701 5. 1st place 1. 28 2. 20 3. .292 4. 82 5. 16 6. 4.18 7. 175 8. 100 1. Lee 2. Relief 3. Fontenot 4. Fontenot 5. Marshall 6. Ramirez 1. Ramirez 2. Bradley 3. Zambrano 4. Marmol June 6th
  24. Disagree. This is a great scoring system. It doesn't take any skill to go chalk by picking all the favorites. It takes guts to pick 5s over 12s like Western Kentucky, Arizona and Wisconsin and props to those that picked Cleveland State. You didn't pick any upsets and you were penalized for it. It's a simple as that. i don't care that i'm doing bad. i'd be doing bad with either scoring system, its irrelevant to my point. the simplest and best scoring system is to reward people who pick the most correct games. this scoring system doesn't do that. i don't care about who has "guts" or some other nonsense, it should be who picks the winners correctly regardless if its an upset or not. Those pools tend to be boring with the majority of the participants picking the lower seeds. Most brackets look relatively the same. It's a lot harder to pick upsets and those that do should be rewarded. i agree with your first statement. but the key for winning pools with a large number of entries is picking the majority of the games correctly and also nailing the key upsets. people that do that correctly should win. in this system, there's definitely a reward for people simply picking a lot of upsets in hopes of getting "bonus points". either way, this isn't that big of a deal, but i'm just not a fan of this scoring.
