with the replies to my questioning some logic in this thread, it makes sense why they don't see the logic. They dont get it. Smoltz, Sandberg, et al, were not players on their respective teams. Maddux was drafted, developed, performed at a high level twice and reached career milestones with the Cubs. This is more emotional for those negative people on this subject then logical. This is a perfect example of how stats can make any argument see appropriate. Stats are not the whole story. If Maddux goes into the Hall as a Cub does this change any opinions?
