  1. HO-LEE CRAP. From what I've heard today, it's highly likely that FSU ends up taking Gary Brown (a 5* DL) from UF, and there's a better than average chance we pull Andre Debose from UF as well. And, despite his stance that it wouldn't be tomorrow, Orson Charles is rumored to be headed to FSU as well. I've also heard a rumor of another player who will be a shocker (of the good kind) flipping over to FSU, but I can't get a name from my people. I've also heard that Tennessee is going to have a MAMMOTH day tomorrow, and that LSU is going to lose out on the Randle sweepstakes (and the two aren't related). It also sounds like UF is going to have a day where someone pees in their cornflakes - and I couldn't be happier!
  2. And Greg Reid commits to FSU. I can hardly wait to see what happens over the next 24 hours. It should be a fun day for fellow Nole fans.
  3. Stuy, are you trying to get me banned, cause you damn well are trying to start something you can't finished. First: I'm not old enough to remember CPB coaching Alabama. Bear retired in 1982 and died in 1983, I was born in 1981. Sorry as great of a coach he was, I don't remember him coaching. Plain and simple. So what that Bama fans still love Bear Bryant? He is without a doubt the greatest coach in college football history, wouldn't you be proud? All college fans are delusionals, not just Bama. Second: I am not delusional anymore then you are an uninformed (and after I read your post, I get the feeling you don't like to read and comprehend). My world does center around Alabama football, cause I am an Alabama fan. And you college football world centers around FSU, so lay off the Michael Phelps. And NO I don't think the college football universe revolves around Bama and CPB, that is simply ignorance on your part. And if you look at the coaches Alabama has had since CPB, you can see why Bama fans still revered the G.O.A.T of college football coaching. Third: If you READ MY POST, and apparently you didn't, I will say it again, Alabama got in on Greg Reid late and it is remarkable how much ground Alabama picked up of FSU and GA for Reid. But I also said I didn't think Reid would end up at Alabama. And that's true, cause I believe he's GA bound. So no, I am not going to take your bet, because I am not at all confident Alabama will land Reid (we'll find out about Reid tomorrow night as he has schedule a announcement at around 6-8p.m). As for your bet, shove the bet up your...................fill in the blank. Maybe you feel definant after Alabama took Ed Stinson away from your team, but save your crap for the toilet. You know, how about I change the terms of the bet: Reid goes to GA or FSU you put me on your ignore list. If Alabama lands Reid, you're going on my ignore list. Wait a minute, I don't need that bet, you are definately going on my ignore list after this post. And I would recommend you to put me on your ignore list, cause I definately don't want to waste my time on you. In the words of Fez, "I said Good day." LOL. This was your quote: A fact for the uninformed: Bama AND FSU got in late on Reid because he was committed to Florida. You've said that FSU is all but eliminated, when that is hardly the case. You also put yourself on even footing with UGA for Reid's services, which means there is no chance for FSU. And you never mentioned that your feelings were due to making up ground since you got into his recruitment late. I've called you out on it, because you make claims that the delusional Bama fans make, and you're unwilling to admit it. I've put my sources on the line, and that's that. But instead, you choose to insult me and put me on ignore. Oh, and Stinson was a loss, but not totally a surprise. He committed to FSU without visiting, then went on other trips. This happens more than anyone would care to admit, and it's why coaches (including CNS) normally try to get recruits in this situation not to visit other schools. But as much as it sucks, we'll survive.
  4. My understanding is this.....Reid's visit to GA was pretty solid, nothing noteworthy. Greg Reid will be a battle between Bama and GA. Right now I would say GA 52% Alabama 48% with FSU all but eliminated. I'll tell you what, Red - you're a typical delusional Bama fan who thinks the world revolves around the grave of Bear Bryant. So let's make this interesting. If Reid selects Bama, I'll never post here again. But if Reid selects FSU, you never post here again. And if he selects UGA, well, that's an out for each of us. Do you care to put your "money" where your mouth is? THAT is how confident I feel about the info I have received re: Greg Reid. Well that's not really fair. If CNS decides he doesn't want Reid, which WOULD BE THE CASE if he doesn't come to Bama, RedFlash can't be faulted for Alabama not wanting an inferior player. Point taken, but the bet still stands. I'm tired of arrogant Bama fans, and this is where I've made my stand. On another note, my guess is we won't hear from Red until after Tuesday. I noticed that he was posting last night until I made the challenge, then he was off the board 15 minutes later - just enough time to see it and leave. Probably doesn't like being called out, I assume.

  6. People are saying that Andre Debose had a GREAT visit to FSU this weekend, and that there is serious reason to believe that we could steal him from UF. I'll believe it when I see it, even if he was photographed wearing FSU gear. I'm curious how Greg Reid's visit to Athens went. But all in all, we're shaping up to have a hell of a class. If some things fall right, we could be looking at a Top 5 or so.
  7. I'll take someone. If no one else wants San Diego, I'll take it. If someone wants them, I'll take NE. Basically, I don't care. Just don't stick me with the Raiders.
  8. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Miami (FL) has lost both their OC and DC in the past few weeks. With a top recruiting class, this surprisingly hasn't affected them. Yet.
  9. Seems like a mistake. Now he'll have to sit out next season, instead of doing well and jumping to the pro level. From what I understand, it's not so much his idea and his father getting involved.
  10. man if that is true that's pretty embarrassing for meyer. a coach shouldn't completely revise his offensive game plan to get his quarterback to stick around for one more year, and to pump up that player's nfl draft stock. What if they ran an offense more like the one he ran with Chris Leak. Is that really a revision or was the Tim Tebow offense a revision from the one he ran when he got to Florida. Meyers has proven to be pretty flexible with his offense. I think this is a strength more than weakness. Meyer tweaked his normal offense to cover the limitations of Chris Leak (he wasn't athletic enough to run the true spread option). What he's run with Tebow the past couple of years has been the "true" Urban Meyer spread option. It's not true. Anything like this is just FSU fans being delusional. Tebow may have asked to throw the rock more like they did in 2006, but they're not changing the offense. The offense he ran this season was most similar to the one he ran with Josh Harris (I think he was there, not Jacobs) at Bowling Green. The offense he ran last season was similar to the one he ran at Utah with Alex Smith. Really the two are the same, they just ran the ball more this year because they were effective at it. The only time he and Mullen really adapted was 2005 and 2006. Even then he had elements of the implemented of the other offense when Leak wasn't in the game, with Tebow and Josh Portis. My guess is after Tebow leaves if Brantley is quarterback you'll see the offense take the sky more often than it did even last year. If you think it's me being delusional, well, you obviously need to recheck your facts. Unless my email is incorrect, that's a recap offered by not one BUT TWO different high school coaches whose players UF is recruiting.
  11. I've been hearing from a few people in Florida. Evidently Tim Tebow made a deal with Urban that they'll run more of a pro-style offense next year to allow Tim to showcase his talents, and he agreed to return. A guy who is close to Meyer's family said that he is hoping Weis is out after this year, and he'll follow Tebow out of Gainesville.
  12. Interesting. I never check scout.com (because they suck and are terribly boring), but FSU is #13 in their rankings and #12 with rivals.com. We should improve somewhat, but I'll wait to see what we do on the field with all the busts we've had as of late.
  13. So, how's your team looking? FSU is doing well and filling holes that existed. We're still waiting to find out if there are going to be a few lost scholarships for the 2009-10 year, but we may add up to 5 more. The crown jewels are Demonte McAlister and Jaccobi McDaniel on the DL (at this point) IMO. I can't say this will put us back in the MNC race every year, but we're getting back to where we were competing at a high level every year.
  14. Since the season (and bowl season) is over, can we close this thread and start a recruiting thread?
  15. How dare a Wisconsin player make a mockery of the Seminole chop. "Those Wisconsin bullies made fun of the thing we do that mocks Native Americans!" Wrong. FSU has the full backing of the Seminole Tribe, and all "rituals" come directly from the tribe. $$$$$$$$$$$$$4 You're right - we should be ashamed that those Indians are holding us hostage for money.

  17. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Florida State beat down Wisconsin. The next few years should be good to us ...
  18. So there's a Yahoo.com story about how the Peavy deal is just on life support right now on the front page. Awesome - this can continue for another few weeks.
  19. Did anyone see the look on McCoy's face when he found out Bradford won? McCoy has already announced he's going to play his senior year at UT, but he sure looked like he wants to prove something. I'm pretty sure he's got something to keep in the back of his mind while he's working out over the next 8 months.
  20. the mind of cubbiebum i hate Texas Tech now because Shonn Greene was way more deserving of 5th place than Crabtree. I hate Jason White for getting more votes than Adrian Peterson in 2004. Cubbiebum, you do realize that Weinke was 28 (?) when he won the Heisman, right? I personally don't think Heupel deserved the Heisman in 2000, either. Correct. In all fairness, in case this is going to turn into a man vs. boys argument, he also didn't play football for 6 years between high school and college (minor league baseball).
  21. I hope Bradford wins. That 33.333% shot coming through might make Meph's head explode.
  22. Okay, here is what I am hearing. Kiffin is a done deal. Monte is believed to be on his staff (this is HUGE). Orgeron is rumored to be on the staff, as well, though there are rumors that O is being considered for the expected opening at DC for LSU (as is John Chavis, who is also rumored to be in the mix at Arkansas). David Reaves (current QB coach at South Carolina and Lane's brother in law) is on the offensive staff (presumably as QB coach), and I'm hearing that maybe two current coaches (Scott and Drayton) are being retained. TIFWIW. We'll know Tuesday at the latest. The source has been dead-on accurate regarding player dismissals and coaching moves in the past, and has strong ties to Trooper Taylor, who *might* be in the mix on this staff as well. What I like about this staff is that it keeps the recruiting class mostly intact. Oku will recommit, as will Giles. I think Marlon Brown signs at UT with that staff in place, and I like our chances at keeping Boyd. Defensively, you'd have to be out of your mind to not want to play for Monte Kiffin, so I think that a couple of guys who've been wavering, and have even decommitted might reconsider. Have you heard the rumors of Kevin Steele going to UT as well? Not under Kiffin. Monte is the first choice, and if he turns it down, I'd hope that Steele is on his list. Steele was a name closely tied to both Kelly and Leach. I've heard (third hand) from my FSU people that Steele is not happy being at Bama and wants out. Could be an interesting offseason, to say the least ...

  24. If there is a Baby Jesus, he will help Florida State beat (and I don't care by how much) the Gators this weekend.
  25. he did??? i wish they would have mentioned it during the broadcast. Did they? :D Hey, it's not often we've gotten good publicity lately. We can use it ...
