I expect a game just like 1996. I can't believe it's going to be a 3:30 game instead of a night game.

Big day for FSU. Myron Rolle is awarded a Rhodes Scholarship, the team wins big over MD, and BC beats Wake - and loses their starting QB for the last game, when they would need to beat MD. I like our chances of getting to the ACC Championship game. I wonder if we could get Penn State again in the Orange Bowl down in Miami ... And it's officially Florida week now. Woot!

All big-conference champs get in regardless of rank. At-large teams have to be in the top 12 (or in the top 14 if any big-conference champs are outside the top 14). THere's a pretty good shot that either the Big East or ACC (or both) will fall outside of the Top 14, so BSU could get in there.

Oh, for the love of God, I hope FSU accepts if offered. In the last go around, FSU was never offered by the SEC. Rumors in Tally are that even if offered, FSU will tell them "Thanks, but no thanks - you should have taken us a few years ago."

F*%#&!!! Apparently there were multiple arrests today at FSU, when several players got into a fight with members of a fraternity (Sigma?). 2-3 WR's, 1-2 RB's, and a CB. From all accounts that I've received, it was a pretty bad sight, but the players held their own against a bigger group of guys. I can only assume that this means we'll be looking at more suspensions this week. M@&%&@#$ F#$er!!!!

Why does MSU jump Ball State for beating Purdue when the team BSU beat (NIU) would probably destroy them? Lather, rinse, repeat for Florida State. Because Ball State doesn't pass the Meph-test. I'm pretty sure that CMU is going to beat BSU, so it will be a moot problem at the end of the season.

Happy Birthday to Bobby Bowden - a nice win over Clemson (in spite of playing defense like a bunch of women during the 1st half), and a loss by JoePa and the Nittany Lions. Makes me happy. Now if I can just stop losing money on the games, all will be well.

Being an FSU fan/alum I would like to defend Meph on his premise that the ACC top 4 could compete with the Bix XII top 4. But even the homer in me can't say that FSU could beat Texas, Texas Tech, OU, or OSU at this point in time. We might be able to give them a game, but I can't see us winning. Hell, I can't see an ACC team winning one of the top 4 matchups, period. I would assume it would happen, but I can't see who it would be or give a good reason as to why it would happen.

Yeah, I'm happy for the guy. And we (FSU) can use all the good publicity we can get. I wish the scholarship committe was a bit more flexible with something like this, or at least the NCAA. I can't believe the committe won't reschedule his interview, and I'm 99.99% sure the NCAA won't let him take a private plane or booster jet to the game (since they're so worried about the student-athlete). FSU and Rhodes Scholar don't exactly belong in the same statement :-) Except he would be our third. :)

That's a heck of a rumor . . . :-)) From MrSEC.com - a very good website for those who are interested in the goings on around the SEC. For the record, John Pennington is an imbecile. Maybe Cowher would have interest (and yes, I've heard the rumors since the day he left Pittsburgh), but Pennington is still an asshat of epic proportions. Cutcliffe and Spurrier are off the Tennessee list. Damn and $6million for the buyout as well. You've gotta love the Ol' Ball Coach for his back-handed compliments.

For the first time in 4 years, I have a feeling this game will be closer than most people will think. We match up pretty well against UF now.

I'm pretty happy that FSU is back up to 16th in both AP and Coaches Polls. If we keep winning, everything will take care of itself. Me likey.

This game reminds me of the 1999 National Championship game, where VT players suffered 3 major injuries before the end of 3Q and FSU ran away with it. Except we don't have anywhere close to as good of a team as we had back then.

Yikes. FSU has knocked out both Taylor AND Glennon, and there's still 5:30 to play in the 3Q. And, no, neither of them were dirty.

Wow, is there any question that Florida is going to throttle Arkansas? I almost feel bad for Petrino. Well, ok, I don't. POS is getting what he deserves.

Personally, I think the defense should have worried more about their conditioning in the offseason instead of their contract status. Maybe if they weren't pre-counting their millions they wouldn't have been dragging ass in the 3rd and 4th.
