Nevermind, it's over for GB. Finally. To UF? Yup. I need to filter some things out before I say anything else, but this was a behind-the-scenes deal.

It hasn't been a complete bust of a day for UT to this point, but I am surprised that it hasn't been better. Yea, the only real surprise (positively) has been Myles. I really thought we had Marlon Brown and it was very disappointing to hear about Oku and Phillips. Otherwise, we've pretty much gotten out commits. I was hearing Brown to UT and I'm surprised that didn't happen.

I don't know if I'm being jerked around or not, but there's some controversy about the Gary Brown LOI. Apparently he signed the FSU LOI, and his mom signed the UF LOI, and now he's putting his foot down. At least I have something to do the rest of the afternoon ... LOL.

Also, I'm pretty impressed with the class that Auburn has put together. As big of a clusterf*** as their season seemed to be, they have done a great job getting a high-powered class together on the Plains.

Wow, that was fast and furious. FSU already has 17 LOIs for their 20 commits. My annual day of not working has almost come to a close, and it's only 10am here. WTF?

Rumor is NuKeese Richardson to Tenn. He was waiting to see if Debose was switching or not.

I've heard the LOI isn't signed yet, but I don't buy it. IMO it's over. Also, it could be worse - we could have had to deal with Bryce Brown's "agent" instead of Gary Brown's mom.

Yup. I'm pretty disappointed his mom never let him fully consider FSU. From all the info I've received, he wanted to come visit and she wouldn't let him. He talks regularly to Odell Haggins, the DL coach and has mentioned numerous times that he wanted to sign with FSU. His girlfriend will be attending FSU next year, and she wanted him to be there with her. Brown's mom turned away Bobby Bowden and wouldn't even take the time to talk with him. Way to go, mom!

IMB, Rivals.com just mentioned that Randle might not sign today. What a strange day to not have #1 or #2 sign on NSD.

Last minute? Last minute for him was over 2 hours ago. Kids that can't make up their minds at this point concern me. The process at Lincoln is one of complete secrecy. I went to school there, and you couldn't get a peep out of any of the players or coaches if you had their mothers at gunpoint. And I wouldn't worry about Jawanza. He's a pretty smart kid from all accounts. I'm not sure what your point is. He could have faxed his LOI almost 2 and half hours ago. Does he have a press conference scheduled for today or something? Yes. All the Lincoln kids have a signing ceremony at noon. The coaches want max exposure for everyone, and don't want any one player to outshine the rest up to the point of signing.

I'm shocked that Alshon Jeffrey switched from Southern Cal to South Carolina. I've heard some things about USCw's class falling apart (relatively) at the last minute, but that shocker wasn't even part of the equation.

From the sound of it stuy, OL Aubrey Phillips will sign with FSU. He's been committed with UT since June. Tennessee's also already picked up signings from JaQuori Schofield, Arthur Jeffrey and Nyshier Oliver. Two linemen (one OL and one DL) in that trio is nice. Already done. FSU received the LOI around 30 min. ago. I've been hearing all morning that despite being committed to UT, he was going to sign with Auburn. Then he faxed his LOI to FSU. :-)) I heard from someone that he's been a silent for the past week to FSU, but there was some last-minute consideration of AU.

For the Domers out there: I'm hearing that it's going to be a last-minute decision for Jawanza Starling between ND and USC. He likes ND better, but feels more comfortable at USC (if that makes sense).

Yikes. I slept through some ugly text messages last night. Charles eliminates FSU, Debose to UF, and Brown's mom might not let the FSU LOI even see the table at the signing. Ugh.

Seems like most do it around 11-1. I covered a couple of kids signing for football the last couple years (one to UT Martin and one to Tennessee) and one was a 8:30 and one close to noon. I seem to remember most doing it close to lunchtime, though. Some of our commits have signing ceremonies starting as early as 8am EST. The big ones occur around 10-1 or 2-5, depending upon the high school.

On another note, FTH is Clemson doing with only 10 commits or so? Did Dabo forget he needs to recruit, and that it's part of the job description?

HO-LEE CRAP. From what I've heard today, it's highly likely that FSU ends up taking Gary Brown (a 5* DL) from UF, and there's a better than average chance we pull Andre Debose from UF as well. And, despite his stance that it wouldn't be tomorrow, Orson Charles is rumored to be headed to FSU as well. I've also heard a rumor of another player who will be a shocker (of the good kind) flipping over to FSU, but I can't get a name from my people. I've also heard that Tennessee is going to have a MAMMOTH day tomorrow, and that LSU is going to lose out on the Randle sweepstakes (and the two aren't related). It also sounds like UF is going to have a day where someone pees in their cornflakes - and I couldn't be happier! Will this make IMB or RedFlash happy? IMB. Which makes me even happier.
