  1. I would like to see 1 of 2 things happen for the Bears on the WR front: 1. Draft Ingram with a 3rd round pick and convert him to a big receiver. He could also be used in a 4-wide scenario with Olsen, Bennett, and Hester. 2. Look into Jordan Norwood (from Penn State) in the later rounds. He has some pretty good hands. On a separate note, I think the DE that was taken in the 2nd was Everette Brown - and I don't think he would have been a good fit for the Bears.
  2. Wow, I just got fired from a non-paying position!
  3. I agree. I think Cutler can do for Lloyd what he did for Royal last year. That was my thought. If Cutler proves to be a good QB in Chicago, WRs will enjoy playing for someone who can get them the ball and they will not want to take plays off (or so I hope).
  4. As an FSU fan, I would LOVE to see EB go to a team like this. I think he would thrive in that type of professional environment.
  5. Try him out for DE.
  6. Well, I'm at a crossroads now. I was hoping that one of the DE's would be off the board to help me decide, but that isn't the case. I'm looking at either Maybin, Brown, or Ayers. Since we've lost Olshansky at DE, San Diego needs a bigger body to fill the DE spot in a 3-4. San Diego selects DE Robert Ayers, Tennessee.
  7. Wow, talk about the worst possible scenario for a team and a player.
  8. Best case scenario for the Bears to get one of the top 6 WRs is the Giants getting Braylon. Boldin to Miami. Holt signing with Jacksonville. Ocho Cinco to the Eagles. The only other teams with a huge need at WR would be Cleveland, Seattle, Cincinnati, and the Rams (sure I'm missing a couple). All are at the top of the draft and I don't think any will go w/ a WR in the first. So, the potential for a lot of guys to slip to the 2nd would be there. I'm hoping that we get Kenny Britt. I'm also wondering if the Bears would take a flyer in a late round and pick up Greg Carr - yeah, it's a homer pick, but I think he can be good in the league and a value in the later rounds.
  9. I'm still surprised he hasn't won three already. If he were more of a QB instead of a hybrid RB, he would have. I was actually being sarcastic. :D I wasn't, until I realized that he wasn't very good as a freshman. It just feels like he's been there for 10 years as bad as the Gators have trashed us the past few years.
  10. I would love to see Blair on the Bulls. The guy plays harder than most, and he plays 3 inches taller than he is.

  12. More Here Good stuff about Percy Harvin in there, as well as some "Draft Floors". I found this interesting: Matthew Stafford, perhaps Eben Britton or Michael Oher and BJ Raji would be a great haul for the Lions. I was thinking that Brady Quinn and Jason Smith/Eugene Munroe/Andre Smith wouldn't be a bad day for them.
  13. Personally, my picks won't change drastically so I'm not worried about which way we go. I'll only get one pick if we start over (no 2nd rounder), and those who are without 1st rounders might not like it too much.
  14. They've never had a QB that could remotely pull off that kind of offense before. I'm not sure any of us know what they'll do offensively this year. Although when they had Rex and Berrian at their peak, they stretched the field a lot and went to the Super Bowl...and presumeably Cutler is a smidge better than Rex. I can see a 50/50 balance not only as ideal, but the goal in the offense this year. Cutler should be an improvement, so that alone figures to be a bump in production. The key will be whether we can get the same production out of Forte as we did a year ago. I hope he holds up ...
  15. I see us winning at home versus AZ, but losing @SF on three days rest while flying to the bloody west coast. It's a night game, which should help get the adrenaline flowing. And SF is abysmal, which will help even more.
  16. Just the opposite. I hate Ohio State with every fiber of my body, but they were players that fit what I think SD should be doing to improve the team. I wanted to pick Greg Carr from FSU (as a homer pick), but he didn't fit as well in that scenario.
  17. As much as I want to make a pick at a skill position and keep the SD offense clicking, I'm not going to. I'll stick with protecting the QB and shoring up a defense that kept them from winning a few games last year. SD selects OT Alex Boone, Ohio State and CB Donald Washington, Ohio State.
  18. I've also heard mentions from Charley Casserley and Mike Mayock that some teams are interested in shifting DT Jarron Gilbert over to OT. I'm sorry, but Josh Freeman shouldn't be drafted that high - by anyone. He'll go somewhere in the first round, and I think that's fine. He'll probably be one of the last players to leave the green room, though. There are multiple players with more talent than Josh Freeman. Some may not be as good of a fit, but there are better backups out there who have "proven" themselves and will always be better than Josh Freeman.

  20. I agree on Britt. The fact that so many of us like him means that it's exponentially less like that Angelo would pick him if he's available.
  21. Neither does Dwight Howard. Not saying Griffin is as good as him, but when you're that good at playing back-to-basket and working from strength and athleticism, sometimes it doesn't matter so much that you lack the finesse skills. Put it this way: he had similar numbers to Beasley last year, and I think his game is better geared to immediate success at the next level than Beasley's. It's also why the NBA sucks, among other reasons. Players aren't as polished as they would be if they stayed in school for another year or two and worked on developing the deficiencies in their game.
  22. San Diego selects Everson Griffen, DE, USC. Umm, he's not draft eligible (and I can't imagine him falling out of the first round when he is eligible next year). Yeah, I wasn't quite paying 100% attention and was looking at a different list of players. No wonder I was looking at the list wondering why he had not been chosen for 5 minutes. San Diego selects Jasper Brinkley, LB, USC (east).

  24. 80-70 UNC. Go ACC!
  25. Interesting. I thought an experienced QB wasn't necessary to having the deal done.
