  1. $177 million for a 14.6 WAR in 7 seasons. Still drawing a blank on Jeds logic with this.
  2. Is paying a guy with a career 14.7 WAR in 8 seasons in Atlanta $177 million for 7 years an obnoxious waste of money?
  3. Between Happ Seiya Swanson and Bellinger you can have 13 runs above average for $94 million just this year. for $25 million and 20 runs above average you could’ve had Marcus Simean for example. He’d give us 15 more runs than Dansby and Suzuki combined for $17 million less AAV if Jed went that route instead in 2021/22 offseason. nice roster building Jed. Thanks tourists and college kids for packing wrigley and giving Tom no incentive to put a winning product on the field
  4. Score 6 on Friday, 4 on Saturday, 2 Sunday, 1 Monday, 3 and 4 runs Tuesday and Wednesday. offense in any given year still averages 3.5 rpg, with those 21 runs enough to take at 5 of 6. Thing is did Tom hire Jed because of his unwillingness to spend on quality bats, is he being handcuffed by Tom or did Tom hire the wrong guy? remember Theo generously signing free agents in Boston and making big trades landing Crawford Gonzalez Bay Dasuke Lowell becket and many others. With the cubs Heyward was his big free agent plush commanding under $200 million and of course Lester (great signing) over Scherzer, an objectively better pitcher. I really believe ownership has a lot of say especially if you followed Theo in Boston who wouldn’t hesitate to throw $ at high impact talent. that 04 Sox team under Jed/Tom would have the same position players if you subtract Manny big papi Nomar (before trade) and varitek). Mueller Nixon Mills’s Damon are all fine players that won’t win s*** if that’s your core. Am i wrong or is this a pattern under our ownership?
  5. 6 4 2 1 2 4 are the bare minimum amount of runs needed for to win all 6 games. Let this sink in
  6. Hold the Brewers to 5 GD runs and lose 2/3. Hold the D backs and brewers to 14 runs and lose 4 of 6. what’s the record for most losses games a team’s allowed 3 or fewer runs because the cubs have to be on pace to break it. It’s sickening.
  7. Don’t forget the not scoring thing either. Can’t tell the story of the 2024 Cubs without it.
  8. They were due to a score A run. That’s all they needed plus 1 more. Good work Shotah and the pen. Hopefully Dansby heats up and bats his way into the 5 hole in front of Tauchman and 200 hitting Morel.
  9. The lineup is better suited with Mr. $177 million batting behind Tauchman and Morel.
  10. Not terribly surprising a 200 hitter and a career journeyman couldn’t bring in the game winning run. That’s not even the bottom of the order. Lol
  11. The bullpen is $ when the Cubs are trailing and scoring a single run for a come from behind win is insurmountable.
  12. We got dealt a bad hand with Johnson Schilling and Brandon Webb.
  13. Other than Happ and Seiya hitting around their career averages and a promising season from Busch this team is full of misplaced hype. Dansby has 2 seasons with a 4+ WAR, Bellinger had an outlier 2023 sandwiched between 3 terrible seasons in LA and even Nico performing at his yearly averages they simply overachieved last season including their pythag win loss %. Bullpen still stinks and wasn’t improved in the offseason….
  14. This is a typical Cub performance vs an NL wild card contender skating around 500. If they played slumping first place AL teams and the Rockies they’d be watchable.
  15. This team would miss the playoffs with 5 prime Randy Johnsons if they hypothetically couldn’t pitch past the 7th inning.
  16. The Cubs team identity is scoring 3 runs or less. It seems like ages ago the bullpen blowing 2 run leads in the 8th inning was the pressing issue holding them back.
