I 3 legged [expletive] donkey could bring in money for the cubs. All you have to do is send out a schedule, put tix on sale, and answer the phone. I agree that Hendry doesn't have to do too much to keep his job. I have to believe that anything short of a WS Title will move Baker out of town. I imagine it could be something similar to his last year with the G-men.
I never thought of it that way. I'd bet that MLB teams wouldn't like their guys playing during the AS break, but crazier things have happened. Kinda sucks that an idea as good as the WBC has so many issues with timing.
Did you guys catch the interview with chipper jones? He thought it would have benefited the club if they'd play in November -- when the US is at the top of its game. I know the carribean guys had just completed their respective seasons. I'm not so sure about the Koreans and Japanese, but I guess I can see Chipper's point. Just food for thought. Don't mame / kill / destroy me, please.
I already read that. Basically, Prior is a wuss. And they are treating him like a little girl. He's sore so there's gonna baby, and pamper him. Or a little boy Little boys are tough. They eat dirt. . . . well, at least mine does :)
Vance, just do what my mom did / does for Ryne. When you go to chicago, go to Sears. There'll be more cub stuff for kids than you can shake a stick at.
I don't know if I mentioned it, but I'm heading to SL with a family of Cardinal fans. I've warned them --- I go all out --- jerseys at the games and cub T's / polos on the town. It's gonna be great --- especially when we win!
I'd love to be able to sell my SRO june 3 tickets. I'll most likely ebay some tickets to that game, just to get a friggin' chair :) Regardless, I'm very happy with my ebayed bleacher tix for June 2 and even if I have to stand, I don't mind doing it for the June 3 game.
piss! I thought I'd gotten some "seats" but couldn't figure out what SRO meant. . . . hahahahahahaha. I now have 4 standing room only tickets to the June 3 game.
i got 6/2 bleacher seats on ebay. I'm going to try for 6/3 tix at 9:00 tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath. I have to believe that in such a small capacity new stadium, that there won't be a bad seat in the house.
well, i knew there was no chance of me getting 4 tickets to 2 games via the cardinals home page, so I bought 4 bleacher seats (sec 595) for 40 bucks each off ebay. Not too bad. . . . probably not the best seats, but at least i'm in the stadium. I'll try my luck in the VR for the June 3 game :)
I think you can save the game once they've been played. I've had it the past 2 or 3 years and loved it. It was great to sit in the recliner, let the wife watch whatever she wanted and I'd watch the game on the laptop. However, this year, I'm going all-out and getting the games on the satellite. My wife can watch her shows in the den. . .. the big screen is mine this year!
If Soriano can "irritate" the opposition, I say send murton to the nats, ASAP. Unless, of course, that red hair irritates the opposition, then I really don't know what to do.
yes, dusty has proposed going with a 4 2b lineup - like a 3 guard lineup in basketball. Awesome. Sometimes you have to get creative. I certainly hope this means our pitchers will work the outside of the plate (to righties).
stub hub has bleacher tix for that weekend at 50 bucks a seat. I guess it could be worse. I'd really like to get some tix, as one of my best friends is a cardinal fan and we're hoping for a fun weekend in St Louis.
Does anyone have a feel for how difficult it will be to get tix for the June 3-5 series in St Louis? I've wrestled with the Cubs' Virtual Waiting room and I'm hoping that is the worst ticket buying experience a fan can go through. Any pointers you guys can give this southern cub fan would be much appreciated.
