  1. That stuff they sell at wal mart really can't be called baseball cards :) Seriously, $3 for 8 cards? Puuuleeeeeze! Give me these any ol' day: http://www.pghsportswholesale.com/images/items/84t.jpg
  2. Which teams are not our rivals?
  3. I don't know about you, but I think a little AAA seasoning would do him good. hahahahahahahahahahahahaahah
  4. Was the play even an error? If I were Murton, I damn sure wouldn't have taken that crap from Z. I wonder if it ever occured to Z that maybe, just maybe he should keep the ball down??? If (IF. . . again, IF) Z is doing this sort of thing, how can any of the players respect him? Whatever happened to the team concept?
  5. That's a good thing. It's kinda nice for the cubs to have a guy who comes out of nowhere and suceeds.
  6. I sincerely hope Marshall keeps this up and the Cubs don't have to let Wade Miller work his way into things. If MArshall can consistently get ML hitters out, keep his hiney in the rotation :D
  7. I find it hilarious that it's okay to ride Pierre's and Jones's asses, but not okay to get on Z (and sometimes Ramirez).
  8. I sense a complete Z melt down now. Complete BS on the ump's part.
  9. why do we have such trouble with the Brewers?
  10. Look at his IP in those games. Not many teams are going go win when they are down 2-5 runs by the 3rd inning.
  11. I don't think I'd DFA Rusch. He'd make a good inning eater on those days that we suck monkey balls --- it happens to everyone. My fear would be that Dusty would put him in too many pressure type situations. Maybe, maybe not. Crap, I don't know. When the big guns come back, Rusch may have to be traded or DFA'd.
  12. Some have bitched about Pierre. Others have bitched about Jones, but this team's weakest link has been Rusch. It's almost like the team has no chance at winning on days he pitches. With the injuries, we really don't have the luxory of letting a guy work his way out of the funk. In this case, managment needs to ID the problem and adjust immediately.
  13. well, Glendon is throwing some nice pitches up there.
  14. I thought the same thing right after the 3-1 win a couple nights ago. That seemed like one of those painful 1-0 losses from years past.
  15. No complaining. No griping. No arguing. Just the good stuff. I'll start with a few of the obvious ones: 1) Cubs are 12-8 2) Maddux is 4-0, .99 ERA 3) We're 4-2 against St Louis There are too many things going right for us to get bogged down with negativity. Come on folks, our glass is more than half full.
  16. Yes and yes. The question is how much are those going to rise from their current state. From the sound of things, they are only going to get worse. . . . . . .the end of the world is upon us.
  17. his low average is an anomoly, as well. .. . right? his high strike out rate. . . .right?
  18. If the Cubs thought for one second that Pie would immediately put up those kind of numbers, Jones wouldn't have been signed.
  19. But it's the complaining that gets annoying, not the constant complaining about complaining and accusations about those who are complaining. We should do the baptist thing and form a committee to investigate the committee in charge of the committee who's repsonsible for over-seeing the complaint committee.
  20. Whatever happens, the cubs could win 95 games and there'd still be a line 8 miles long of neifi / dusty / jones / pierre haters :)
  21. if Pierre scores 119 runs and steals 60 bags, I don't give a rat's butt what his OPSLAKDKAHGO + / - VORP is.
