    I think Torre is a very good manager. If I recall, he won a lot of games (no division titles) with some really crappy cardinal teams.

    i watched exactly NOTHING of these two series. I can't recall not watching anything like this year. Hell, I only watched one of the Cub playoff games (thank God for Disney World.)

    If the Cubs can somehow get a quality RFer and SS, I'd say put Pie in CF and leave him there. If he hits .200 that's fine. When I say "quality" I mean a proven star-type player. If Pie can somehow be the lineup's weakest link, that should be just fine.

    I have to agree that 03 was kind of a surprise. 2007 it was almost expected. I like the feeling of expecting to win and following through. Pitching in 03 was much better. That staff was exactly what you need in October -- dominating power pitching. Our offense is better this year. I like the 07 pen better. manager is better. 07 gets the edge.

    My mom surprised my wife and I with official championship ringer t-shirts today. We'll be sporting them, along with other cub shirts, on our trip to Disney World.

    I'm fine with it, simply because he will be on a very short leash if he is not on. However if he is on it could be a great thing against them. Arizona doesn't score a whole lot of runs they are 28th in BA and OBP, and 15th in K's. You just have to be ready to pull him at any point of the game. I'm fine with that as long as Zambrano is on the same short leash. He has been much more inconsistent. He has not pitched his way out of trouble very well. He has no previous playoff success. Zambrano has playoff experience.

    you're on the same schedule i was when i was rolling (going to Orlando that is). staying at the Marriott Grande Vista by any chance? :lol: Nah. We're driving to Jackson MS Wed and spending the night there. We fly to Orlando on Thursday morning and will be immediately shipped to the Disney World Gates. We're staying at the Pop Century. This is my wife's belated Anniversary gift --- she was 8 1/2 months pregnant for our "Real" anniversary. How as I to know the Cubs would be in the playoffs ? :)

    I might be better off with a late 1st round start. I'm going to Orlando on Wednesday and won't be back until Monday night. That might actually screw me out of the whole shebang. All I could do is put something together for game 1.
