  1. come on albert, that was intentional. . . . charge the mound. . . .get both of you ejected. good times.
  2. Odds: K: 50-1 Regular out: 30-1 BB: 3-1 1b: 4-1 2b 5-2 3b 10-1 Hr 1-3
  3. Here's the problem with the "he bet on the Reds to win" argument. Pete didn't bet on every game. He gave the bookies a pattern. A game that he didn't bet on could have been interpreted as a game he figured they would lose. I'm sure a bookie could turn that into something. Also, do the rules state that gambling excludes a person from the hall of fame? I thought it said they'd be banned from major league baseball. It is my understanding that the HoF is not the major league hall of fame. It is the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
  4. anyone else surprised by Albert's 2 choke jobs tonite?
  5. I don't know what we'd do if our kids stayed up past 8:00. It definitely gives you time to act like a grown person. . . watch some non-disney TV, drink a cold brew. . . just unwind. I think I might have said this, but Ryne was 2 at his first minor league game. He loved it. Watched the whole thing. His first major league game he was 4 (at the Rangers). He hated the fireworks. He's dying to go to Wrigley. He asks almost everyday "when are we going to wrigley field? when?" I'm taking him next season.
  6. I have 2 kids and just can't justify bringing them when they were babies. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to take care of a baby and enjoy a ballgame. You are a brave, brave soul :)
  7. boy, he really tried to get out of the way.
  8. UNCLE MO, COME ON OVER!!
  9. Maybe Harang will get through the 10th, his arms falls off and he misses his start against us, and the Reds hit a homer.
  10. the reds won't win this one.
  11. ohhhh, so you're the one getting my hopes up, then sending my world crashing down. Thanks alot :) No need to delete the PM. I log in / log off quite often. After 5:00 CST, my e-mail is usually open so I'll respond quickly. I'm always good for a spot start.
  12. There's a reason that Phillips, a former GM, is working for BBTN.
  13. GREAT song
  14. How do I get in on this action? Ryne has developed an affection for The Riot.
  15. Wily Mo played SS in little league. He could probably do it for the Cubs, too.
  16. Need this one badly. The beermakers won't likely get swept. We've been picking up a game every series (or two) and that's nice. No need to change that now.
  17. this may not be the right forum, but here goes. Over the past month or so, I've received 5 emails (or so) that say that someone has sent me a private message. I log into NSBB but no message. I don't mind since I log in to NSBB everyday --- just thought I'd pass the info along incase it was a software bug or something like that.

    90 wins?

I'm not sure I understand the weak schedule argument. Outside of interleague games, we play pretty much the same schedule as the rest of the divsion. 162 games --- it's not weak and everything evens out.
  19. the d'backs have scored 2 runs while I WAS NOT having sex. The cubs have scored 2 runs while i WAS having sex. Where's the wife. . . .
  20. 2 awards would mean twice the bitching. 1 award does the trick :)
  21. Any player who sets the mood in the clubhouse by parading around in nothing but a jock and a fur coat is gold in my book. Bring softball man back to the northside!
  22. I bet the 2 week period for Fox is nothing more than a sunshine pumping routine. If a deal can be made, I feel like the Cubs will make it.
  23. I remember playing that right up til I got an NES. It was a fun game. RBI is such a great game because it can be played by all skill levels. There are countless rule variants to help level the playing field. There are drinking games that can be played with RBI. There are tons of ROMS out there --- some of which I even made. It's a timeless classic. . . one that Ryne and I play often.
