Get yourself a Tour Edge Bazooka iron/wood. I have a 19 degree variant (2 iron) and it is glorious. I got mine at http://www.rockbottomgolf.com for $40. I can hit it 225-250 with some control. I can hit it high, too. It's comparable to most 3 woods, which I cannot hit to save my life. I use my hybrid (iron / wood) as a utility club as well. It's good for getting out of the woods, hitting under tree limbs, etc.

i've been calling for a lou-splosion for a while now. Yeah, they went through a rough stretch. However, all those good things that happened earlier in the year will be nothing more than a footnote in a very average year if they don't get the lead out of the butts and get focused. The pitching has been great this week. The offense needs to get back to the basics --- work the count, draw a walk here or there, make the pitchers work.

My Pinemeadow Excels have not come in yet --- they are due on Tuesday. I was at Academy Sports today and they were selling the Excel Strongs w/ Hybrid (3-5) for $149. I picked up a 7 iron and compared it to the Callaway X-20s. . . just there in the store, I couldn't see a $450 difference in the two clubs. I think I'll be pleased with the Pinemeadow clubs.
