  1. Good to see the voters got this one right, Pujols easily deserved it over Howard.
  2. Not saying I believe this rumor but Theriot makes a lot of sense for the Padres. He's the type of hitter who won't really be hurt by Petco due to his lack of power and his .362 career OBP is a huge improvement on Greene's .304. He's still relatively young and cheap too.
  3. I don't know how anyone could argue that the Big 10 is better than the Big 12. The Big 12 has four teams ranked in the top 7, the Big 10 has one. The Big 12 has six ranked teams, the Big 10 has three. The bottom feeders of the Big 10 (Iowa, IU, Michigan) might be better than those in the Big 12 (Baylor, ISU, A&M) but it still doesn't come close making up for how much better the top of the Big 12 is. The Big 12 has four teams that would have a legitimate chance at going undefeated in the Big 10 (and who knows what KU and OK St. would do), while PSU is the only team that would stand a chance in the Big 12 (OSU is [expletive]). When it's all said and done, the Big 12 might be the best conference in the nation this season.
  4. This is the Cubs we are talking about right, not the Rays, Red Sox or Angels who are all better than them? When did Sabathia, Lincecum, Halladay or Santana get traded to the Cubs? Lilly has looked better lately, that is for sure Dont' see how this matters much Yeah the Cubs do well with a lead late. The Cubs had more wins than each of those teams except the Angels. Unfortunately, the Angels run differential was +68 in a pathetic division, while the Cubs was 184 in the 2nd best division in baseball. Harden had a 2.07 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP this season. He had 181 strikeouts in 148 innings. He may not pitch as often as the others, but when he's on the mound he's as good as it gets. And he should be allowed to go further than usual in Game 3. It matters because although the Dodgers will have HFA in games 3 and 4, the Cubs will still have plenty of support unlike most teams playing in LA. Not a huge difference but it helps.
  5. Reasons this series is far from over: -We still have the best team in baseball -We still have the best pitcher in baseball going in game 3, and this time he will be allowed to throw more than 6 innings -Lilly has pitched outstanding the last 2 months, and is better than Maddux or Lowe on 3 days' rest -There should be plenty of Cub fans when we go to LA -We didn't use Marmol or Wood Thats all I got. It all comes down to Z tomorrow. We win tomorrow and I think we win this series.
  6. He hasn't looked great but that pitch that Lopez hit was 94 and on the corner.
  7. I saw this, it was great. Kruk couldn't believe that someone thought wins were a meaningless stats for pitchers.
  8. What's even better is that the guy made a poll and 14 out of 40 voted for the pick to be traded. Don't Sox fans constantly rip Cubs fans for not knowing anything about baseball? http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=101866
  9. Gotta love Macias and Patterson hitting 1-2.
  10. Iannetta triples off Izzy and brings in 2. Rockies get 4 in the 8th to go up 4-3.
  11. Fixed to make you look somewhat respectable. People shouldn't need green to realize that's sarcasm. Why Fox is on this team to begin with is beyond me.
  12. Phew, I was afraid they were going to send down Chad Fox. Glad to see that it will likely be Pie instead.
  13. Holliday deserves credit for turning that into a double. If he jogs to first like most guys, Atkins' groundout to Theriot is a DP and this game is still tied.
  14. NO NO NO I don't necessarily want it, I just could see Lou calling for it.
  15. Or Just don't play him. With Cedeno hitting as well as he has been, there's no reason for Fontenot to be starting.
  16. Wow, 6 more walks for the Cubs today. I love this offense.
  17. I haven't seen it, but did anyone figure out if that ball Pie hit in the ninth was fair?
