    This team is unbelievable. Every time they pull out a win like last night, and it looks like they might take off, they go back to just being the same old Cubs. Man our defense really sucks :o .

    Even when Nomar gets back, I'm sure Dusty will find plenty of ways to get Neifi into the game. After all, he's one of Dusty's boys. Didn't Dusty say Nomar wouldn't be an everyday guy right away when he came back? I wouldn't be surprised if Neifi gets around half the starts at SS for a while after Nomar gets back. I think he did say that. Of course, Neifi has saved us this season, so you gotta give him as many at bats as possible, dude.

    Just figured this might be a good idea since there seem to be a lot of these (thanks DJaxx :) ) and most of the first page in the minor league section is taken up by them. So a seperate forum may be a good idea. What do the mods think?

    I think it was mainly for this year, to give the Cubs a much needed OBP guy for the top of the lineup. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he is resigned. Especially if he proves to be a sparkplug and helps get the Cubs to the playoffs, like Lofton in '03.

    Can Lawton play CF? I'd rather have Murton in the lineup over Hairston. Not that Dusty would do such a thing.

    Dunn? please do it JH!!! I've gotten my hopes up about Manny, and that MAYBE over now as it appears he might be headed to the Mets, I just pray to Kent that we get Adam. I would rather have Soriano and Murton in the lineup than Dunn and Walker. Both Cincy and Texas need help in the back of their rotations that the Cubs can provide with pitchers such as Mitre, Wellemeyer, and Nolasco. Are you kidding me? Soriano is exactly what this team doesn't need.

    This would be a great deal for the Mets but Manny's numbers would likely go down this yr. Shea is a pitchers park, along with RFK, Pro Player and Turner Field. Plus he doesn't get the chance to tee off on the Yankees staff for the rest of the season :lol: Manny just got booed pretty loudly at Fenway.

    I don't think so. It would definitely be a huge addition for the Mets, but heck they're in last place in their own division. They have a tough schedule ahead.

    I heard it too. All they said was that Baez and Huff would go to the BoSox with Manny going to NY. I imagine TB would be getting some pretty big prospects from the Mets, I'm guessing Milledge would be one of them.
