  1. The cubs seem ‘organizationally better’ under Jed than Theo. They don’t have nearly the talent that the 15 or 16 team did but they win so many games by taking the extra base, putting the ball in play, having a strong pitching infrastructure and philosophy, strong clubhouse culture and no player drama. They squeeze every bit out of their guys, whether that’s Smylee, Tauchman, Belly. Being patient has been hard but this team will soon be set up like the rays/dodgers
  2. He will have to turn his cutter into a plus pitch IMO. That will be what will turn him from good to great..that’ll give him 2 put away pitches that he can use against both LHP and RHP
  3. That change up is an 80 grade pitch honestly this kid has a chance to be special
  4. Is it just me, or has Madrigal been one of the best hitters on the team for a few months now
  5. I hope Ross doesn’t pull this **** in the playoffs
  6. If only the cubs were trying to win this game
  7. Somebody should tell Ross that he shouldn’t use the relievers in his pen that have spent most of their careers in the AL central something tells me that might not work against an AL central team that hasn’t seen any of your relievers before except those 2. Haha
  8. I’m so tired of this buffoon just DFA him so Ross will stop starting him
  9. You just know that Wisdom will start a playoff game at first base
  10. Motel’s HR reminds me of the one Bryant hit against the Rockies back in ‘15 I think. Morel will be a superstar and last night was his coming out
  11. I don’t measure whatever happens rest of season TBH. My measuring stick is whether they resign Bellinger or not. It would be quite the gut punch for the Cubs not to pay up, and watch the Yankees or Angels sign him.
  12. I don’t think the strategy was bad with the top of the order coming up. Morel just had to deliver there, plain and simple. He’s got a superstar ceiling but he won’t reach it if he’s unwilling to shorten his swing in those situations
  13. This pains me to suggest because he’s my favorite player on the current Cubs team, but: If the Cubs offered the Mariners Morel for George Kirby in the off season, which team doesn’t walk away as a better team?
  14. I don’t even see how it’s still a decision. 3 games back now, 2 over .500 and the hottest team in baseball? If they don’t at least soft buy, that would be unforgivable imo The only trade I’d seriously consider is if the reds wanted to dangle Encarnacion strand, India or another young bat for Stro. Because that could help the cubs for this year too. Doubt that would happen though
  15. Madrigal was the hottest hitter on the team before his last injury. Glad to see him pick up where he left off… exciting piece to add to a scorching hot team
  16. If wisdom got full playing time he’d slug 50 bombs with a .700 ops
  17. True . But with the way he’s been swinging it last few days. He’s in one of those stretches and I’m shocked they play “matchups” over their best players. Hopefully Mancini crushes a HR today and makes me look dumb
