I agree, don't get why they don't just roll with their best players. Busch is a 2nd year player with plenty of upside vs lefties, not a 32 year old platoon

Give the Cubs credit, they were so epic in April vs LHP, against the likes of Patrick Corbin and Eduardo Rodriguez, that it's made people numb to the last 5-6 weeks.

this is why I think Philly is such a bad matchup in a playoff series. Ranger Suarez is the NL version of Skubal, Sanchez is great and they’ve already gotten blanked twice by Luzardo. That makes the Wheeler game a must win and… he’s one of the best pitchers in the game

Don’t see either team sweeping. Cubs will either take 2 out of 3 or lose 2 out of 3. Yankees won a game last night that they shouldn’t have, so hopefully they are due for a let down tonight

If the Cubs are going to take on a pitcher with a big multi year $ commitment, I'd prefer Nathan Eovaldi, even at his age. Regarding Suarez, the Cubs will have some competition for sure, but they have the most they can give up. Out of the teams that'll be interested in him, they have the best farm system. Also don't think the Dodgers will be in on Suarez when Muncy is only gone for 5 or 6 weeks. I can see the Yankees and Mariners having interest. Unfortunately, I think Jed and co have the same thoughts as many on here. No need to get a guy with a .560 OPS out of the lineup when they already have a top 3 offense and he's a top prospect.

This is a game thread, fool, let people say whatever they want in here without acting like the speech police. The Dodgers are on a 6 game losing streak because they faced the Astros and the Brewers. The Cubs would hardly fare better if they ran into those teams again, given how they've played lately

The dodgers faced one of the best SP in baseball right now, the Cubs faced a guy with an ERA north of 5. It's cute that you think this team is beyond any criticism, even when they are on the verge of getting swept by a team that went 9-18 in June. On to the World Series I guess 🤷♂️

Yes it will, the Phillies vs the Brewers or Dodgers. This team isn't going to get there by pitching like this or starting Berti or Shaw at 3rd base

I just looked up his stats on baseball reference and I was wrong about him. He has great career numbers and a low FIP. Wouldn't be a bad trade deadline target
