  1. lol the Reds just erased an 8 run deficit in the 8th inning.. still nobody out
  2. Fair enough but he's shown that he can swing a big trade when he wants to. I just don't understand how they didn't do more this year at the deadline when they have what, the 2nd best record in baseball. If not now then when? Like even if they didn't want to "overpay" for guys like Gore and Ryan, why couldn't they get one of the rentals. Kelly or Gallen.
  3. The Tucker trade was pretty horrible in terms of value and he made that trade. I think he just got cold feet
  4. Not to mention guys like Kelly, Bieber, Gallen - rentals with a much smaller price. They literally did nothing of significance and people are making excuses for them. I wonder how the guys in the clubhouse feel that this FO didn't do anything noteworthy to enhance their chances of winning
  5. Before today, I would have said that the Cubs could beat anybody in the NL except maybe the Phillies. After today, I wouldn't even take them in a series against the Mets or Padres. Everybody else got better and the Cubs did not. Castro and some C level bullpen additions don't make them significantly better than they were yesterday.
  6. They had a 6.5 game lead on Milwaukee 6 weeks ago and now are 1 game back lol. If that isn't a strong enough motivation to make some moves then I don't know what is. You don't win championships based on your run differential. It's okay to call them out for the disaster that was this trade deadline.. forget the Brewers, even the Reds were more aggressive. It's not acceptable
  7. The cubs will be like the only team that has to have a bullpen day in the playoffs LMAO which I guess I’d rather have than Taillon and his 5+ FIP
  8. The point is though they missed an opportunity to get better or to improve their odds. If they make it to the WS, it will feel like an accident
  9. Why couldn’t they get a guy like Kelly though?
  10. The cubs showed everyone today that winning is clearly not their priority
  11. The Cubs have a top 5 record and this wasn't enough for them to go for it lololol. At least now I don't need to waste my money on going to watch this team play - they aren't serious about winning
  12. I wonder what my old weed dealer is up too
  13. So dumb to wait like this. What would they do if they get disconnected or their signal drops
  14. lol 3 minutes left and no major move. Castro and some no name bullpen guys don't get it done for me
  15. So much for the Rangers selling on Eovaldi. They've gone more all in than the Cubs!
  16. They'll probably come away with Merrill Kelly and call it a day
  17. With the way things are going, I'll just assume they'll get a stud big leaguer back for Cease. Probably someone they can slide into their lineup immediately and rake lol.
  18. The Cubs could get Mackenzie Gore and I still feel a bit sick to my stomach at how much better so many other teams have gotten. Obviously the Cubs have no control over that, but wow, kudos to the Mets, Padres and Astros for the moves they've made. They want it more
  19. It gives the appearance that these orgs care more about winning than the Cubs front office does
  20. It'll be pandemonium on here if the Cubs don't make another significant move or two
  21. Some of these teams are not horsefeathers around. At least we got Soroka (okay I'll stop being sarcastic now)
  22. Something better change soon, otherwise I'll never forget that this was the deadline where the Reds were more aggressive than the Cubs
  23. Oh yeah you are right. Guerrero 14 years/500 million. Tucker has no excuse now not to take that.. LOL. Jk. My fear is less so that the Cubs won't make a very competitive offer and more so a desperate team like the Yanks and Red Sox getting involved.
