  1. If they do, + a good SP at the deadline, I straight up think this team is as good as '16, whether it works out or not. I'll take their chances against anybody.
  2. I love how good they are vs RHP but there is definitely a trade off there vs LHP. Hopefully, they can figure something out. This team is actually constructed pretty similarly to the Phillies when Steele is healthy.
  3. I just think the Phillies would be a nightmare matchup for them in the playoffs unless they make a move for Suarez. 3 star caliber southpaws in that rotation and Strahm out of the pen. Essentially neuters Busch and limits PCA. Seiya will get his I guess but I don't want the Cubs playoff chances hinging on a rookie and Danbsy Swanson
  4. Brewers got a run, 3-2 Mets going into the 7th inning stretch
  5. Shaw has definitely showed some flashes lately. The defense is spectacular. I'd be onboard with this outcome depending on the SP..
  6. I'm scoreboard watching the D Backs hard the next few weeks because I 100% think Jed will be in on Suarez if he becomes available. I no longer think it's just a fantasy, but something they are probably monitoring. Just makes too much sense..
  7. I don't think their upcoming trip to Miami will be a cake walk either. Marlins have been playing some great baseball, as odd as it is to say. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Marlins win 1 or 2 of those games
  8. Horton has had a good bounce back outing, I mean he's still leaving some pitches up but the stuff is elite
  9. Interesting, I guess I never realized that was happening. For some reason I thought it was a new thing that came in with some of the other recent rule changes. My bad.
  10. They are still doing the participation trophy award thing right where every team needs to have 1 all star? So horsefeathers dumb. I miss the old all star game where players would wear their own jerseys and it was always on the merits.
  11. I'd do it, even if it cost the Cubs 3 or 4 of their best prospects
  12. Agreed. I'd be shocked if the Cubs can't win 2 of those 3 and possibly even all 3. St. Louis doesn't scare me at all.
  13. Ryan would be great, but I feel like the window to make that trade was last off season, where he was coming off of a season ending injury and before he's currently having his best year as a pro. That price will just be way too high This can't be the main move but if the Cubs want to move in on someone that I think they could fix, Tanner Houck is an interesting name. He had a great year last year and this year... it's just all fallen apart for him 2 more years of control, but an obvious risk because he has an ERA north of 8 this year lol
  14. I feel like the Cubs are licking their chops for that St Louis series. They looked dominant in those last 2 games and St Louis is not playing well right now. Could be a chance to put them out of their misery. If they are 7 or 8 games back come deadline time, no chance they go for it.
  15. Nico and Danbsy are as good as it gets for middle infield defense
