  1. I get it. He has the highest ceiling of any player in our organization imo. Will he hit that ceiling tbd, but I would trade Cassie before I trade Alcantara.
  2. Maybe just send him to the Tigers for the rights to Workman.
  3. Jed is the most unlikable GM ever.
  4. A successful season for Horton would be too stay healthy for the entire season and build up his innings. I see him contributing from the bullpen post all star break this year with maybe a couple starts hear and there similar to Brown like you said. I have Birdsell ahead of him on the depth chart right now, hes earned it. I'm eager to see Horton's early velocity reports from ST. Still am extremely bullish on him.
  5. If Wiggins can get his command and control together, he looks like an elite starter. Right now I think hes a high leverage reliever.
  6. Its not like it even blocks Shaw. Plenty of ABs to go around and for him to earn his way into starting. Hell you could even dangle Nico for a starter at the deadline if Shaw is playing well with Bregman in the fold
  7. I really wish we had an "ace" but I do really like this collective group of arms Hoyer has acquired. I do think he turned the bullpen into a strength for this season. On paper, it looks good for Counsell and his tendencies. Gives him a lot of flexibility in high leverage situations. If we can avoid the early season bullpen meltdowns like last year I think we can start off the season well. This looks like a 87-90 win team to me on paper.
  8. Turner is a decent backup plan from Bregman. Give him a one year deal. Worst comes to worst we can cut him midseason.
  9. Kinda feels like a last ditch effort to try and get a team to do something stupid. There is too much smoke out there. I think he ends up in Detroit.
  10. 100%. He makes the lineup way better. Frankly, i dont give a damn if he doesnt want to DH exclusively. Hes under contract and thats where he fits best on the roster. If we sign Bregman, trading Nico isnt off the table for me but id still like to keep him and ease Shaw in as the supersub. There are more than enough ABs to go around.
  11. I got high hopes for Eli Lovich this year and I would love to see Wiggins take a strong step forward and solidify himself as a top tier prospect.
  12. I dont think the Cubs need Bregman but id gladly take him. I just really dont want it to take us out of a potential Kyle Tucker extension.
  13. I think he is banking big on Horton, Wicks and Birdsell having big impacts this year. I think hes been ok on pitching. I like the collective group of arms hes aquired but my biggest gripe is that he has never aquired a true ace.
  14. Thats way too much for one year of Cease. No thanks
  15. After the Pressley trade, i'm pretty comfortable with our bullpen but I'm terrified of the bench right now though. I think its pretty obvious they want to leave spots open for young guys like Mo Baller, Cassie and Alcantara to win in the long run but my god our bench is atrocious right now.
  16. They probably were. Jed probably juat refused to budge from his number making it incrediblt easy for the Dodgers to swoop in and sign him
  17. This league is a horsefeathers joke right now. And somehow Jed, who managed to finally get a super star player is an even bigger joke. Cant wait to land another "reclamation reliever" with a 6.5 ERA in AAA with good spin rates
  18. The salary cap stuff, I can go back and forth on. What the league really needs right now is a salary floor. So many teams can be spending more money and they dont.
  19. Damn that jacket is awesome.
  20. This is how the MLB is soft launching the return of the Montreal Expos for the next expansion
  21. I like them a lot. Love the return of the powder blue from the 70's. So much better than the ugly Wrigleyville ones
  22. Tomas really intrigues me. Big kid with plenty of room to grow
  23. The whole thing waa a farce anyway to avoid the rumors of a handshake deal already in place with the Dodgers, which everyone already knows is true.
  24. I'm really excited to see how Fernando Cruz does stateside after an offseason of work. I'm hoping one of him or Valdez can really breakout as a top 100 guy.
