    I'd like to see him consistently barreling the ball before we bring him back. Happy he's getting hits and getting his confidence up but those were all weak contact except the first one. EDIT: Jason stated two were over 100 MPH and I didnt see that. I think my overall thoughts still stand though.

    I love the new blues but no. The pinstripes are great and timeless. No need to get rid of them.

    I think he fits the makeup of this team. He's a good player, elite defensively at 2nd base and constantly makes contact to move runners or to get on base. Would I rather have a guy with more power at 2nd? Yeah but I dont think Nico is a problem for the Cubs or anything. He's a guy where when he career with the Cubs is done, I will remember it fondly for his makeup, defense and contact approach. As of now, we dont really have a replacement for him. In the long run, maybe Christian Hernandez or Shaw establish themselves there but he's our best option at the moment.

    Yeah. Mo Baller is almost off limits for me. The bat is too good imo and can cover any current defensive liablities he creates. He's still incredibly young. Keep developing him at catcher until he becomes serviceable and then bring him up. With the way Jed and Carter have talked about him in the past, I suspect they are holding onto him as tightly as possible.

    Man, if he can just get that FB location locked in, he's an ace.

    Yeah that's what I was thinking. I also still believe in Shaw but I dont think it would hurt to consider an expiring contract for a couple months. He was the first name that popped into my head outside of Arenado but I dont see that ever happening. EDIT: I was wrong. I didnt realize he had signed an extension with Colorado. That makes that idea much less appealing.

    I wonder if Ryan McMahon is a target at the trade deadline. He's been horrible with the bat to start the season but he's been consistent throughout his whole career so I think he will turn it around and hes a free agent next season.

    Man, Devin Taylor has really shot up boards. Especially for a guy who profiles as a LF/1B/DH. The offensive profile is terrific though.

    Doesnt Murakami have pretty bad K issues? Not saying he cant succeed or be a good player but I thought one of the major concerns with him is that he wont hit enough.

    Awesome. Thanks man! In his last start, he looked good and his stuff was filthy but it looked like he was still rusty with mechanics and command. Happy to hear a positive report. Looking forward to reading the article.

    I've got faith in Happ. He always starts slow. I wouldnt be surprised if hes still hitting like trash in mid may, but then we will look at his overall line at the end of the year and he will have career numbers or in line with them again.
