  1. I have Ward and Neto on my dynasty team. Neto is going to be a star. Angels are a fun team on the come up, just desperately need pitching.
  2. Cade is doing fine. He's not going to come up and immediately be the polished guy we all hope he turns into. Stats - ERA/xERA/FIP/xFIP Justin Steele 2021 9 GS 4.26/4.04/5.52/4.21 Tarik Skubal 2020 7 GS 5.63/4.48/5.75/4.81 2021 29GS 4.34/5.59/5.09/4.06 Cade Horton 2025 4.11/4.21/4.02/3.96
  3. Just maybe Wheeler, Flaherty, Skubal, Gore, Abbott, and Lodolo are good at what they do.
  4. Kind of felt that one coming with the 3 uncompetitive breaking balls in a row. Great outing from Ben overall though
  5. Agree with this.
  6. I was wondering about Giolito. I'm not sure how the Sox view his $14m team option for next year (If under 140 IP). That's fairly cheap and could be an appealing bounce back candidate after he has a full season post TJ surgery under his belt. Could see them wanting to hang onto him because they need all the pitching help they can get. They'll for sure move Buehler if they are selling.
  7. In his largest sample size, 2022 146 IP, he had a 21.4% K%. He’s at 21.6% this season. Last season (recovering from elbow surgery) he only pitched 28 innings, mostly coming out of the pen where he could air it out. He has 2.5 years of cheap control, really good when he pitches, has had 3 elbow surgeries, and probably has some sort of innings limitation this season. I’m interested and scared at the same time.
  8. Looks like a good day for a Tucker/PCA blast. Maybe Shaw oppo shot??
  9. Breslow and the Red Sox not helping us out at all.
  10. Still blowing in, but not quite as impactful as it has been the prior games.
  11. It's just so tough to gauge right now with the added WC spots. There will be decent arms available, there almost always is. Alcantara, Elfin, maybe Gausman. Then you have scenarios like what if the Astros fall out of the race (Valdez), what do the Braves do with Sale if they aren't in the race, we could play the what if game for a bunch of teams, but we just won't know until close to the TDL. Heck, Skubal was rumored to be available for a massive package last TDL and they ended up moving Flaherty and made the playoffs. It's unpredictable at this point.
  12. It's interesting how bad the AL is this year. All but 3 teams are within 4 games of a WC spot, which makes knowing who will be available at the deadline tough to predict.
  13. Agree with the concern, but I think Jed will keep pumping new BP arms into the system since it's just highly unlikely a SP trade happens right now. That seems to be his current strategy, to get by until closer to the TDL.
  14. Yep - This is the concern with penciling him in the playoff rotation as of today.
  15. I think if TORP are available at the deadline, Jed is going to be swimming in those waters. I think folks are underestimating how aggressive Jed has been at the deadline. Landed the best hitter (Maybe biggest deadline trade overall?) last season when we were under .500. In 2023 he also landed the best hitter, although it was only Candelario. Those teams were nowhere near this current team. I think if someone like Gausman or equivalent becomes available, I expect Jed to land one of the big fish. The O's failures are well documented and have been highly criticized. No chance Jed follows their path and doesn't add a difference maker arm (Unless there literally isn't one available).
  16. Seeing Cade throw a nasty change gets me excited
  17. The good - 15.6% SwStr% is nice to see and in line with his 2023 season (15.5%). The bad or worth noting at least - in that stretch he faced COL, CIN, MIA, CHW, CHW, MIA, and NYM in mainly low leverage situations while still having a poor EV against (92.5EV), which is bottom 5% in the league.
  18. Pressly battled mechanical issues all of 2024. Jed was betting on Pressly's close connection with Hottovy and Poppe to help "fix" him and get his velo and K% back up. That was the hope, but the bet hasn't paid off yet.
  19. Believe they said Berti on the broadcast yesterday.
  20. If that is oblique, are they comfortable enough with throwing Mo back there?
  21. I didn’t think JT had 400+ still in the tank. Good to see
