  1. A's come back to win the next two at home against the Angels, including yesterday's game with the bizarre ending. A's are alone in first place.
  2. thats a really good baseball reference page. whoever sponsors it is a genius. btw, if bully makes it back to the majors, im rooting for his team every game no matter what
  3. You get points for the intention. in all honesty, i think we would've struggled anyway. my sister was really tired and likely would've thrown a fit if we'd tried it.
  4. thnx for today cobs no matter what happens the rest of the season, today was wonderful.
  5. well the rain delay screwed things up. only one game for me today.
  6. HEY YOU GUYS I DONT LIVE IN EITHER CHICAGO OR ST LOUIS BUT IF I HAD TO CHOOSE ONE IT WOULD DEFINITELY BE CHICAGO
  7. im going to be at the game ill be the guy committing suicide in the upper deck i plan to make it a point to be messy. a good time will be had by all.
  8. two votes for maybe if you remove that option now you damage the integrity of the poll, it must stay
  9. good points guys if roast got in a fight with a guy, he'd use his training and jump over his opponent, just like in his picture.
  10. I don't know about Sioux, but I know that the word Apache actually is just the word for "enemy" in a neighboring tribe's language.
  11. i think it's pretty clear that the cubs are just making stuff up as they go along at this point.
  12. I bet if you wear the camo jersey he'd go. After all, who wouldn't want to see an authentic Jaxx camo jersey!?!?!?! EAGERLY ANTICIPATING SERENA'S REPLY
  13. I do think a 1:20 game at Wrigley and a 7 pm game at O'Brien could be done in the same day. It'd be a grueling travel day. But you're young. I'm giving it some thought. I can't get the ticket return thing to work, so Serena's not going to get the tickets after all. I'm going to print out alternate directions for the way home on the off chance the cubs don't give up 37 runs and the game last 4 and a half hours.
  14. fumes smell usually (i made that one up myself)
  15. over 600 at bats, the difference between a .275 hitter and a .300 hitter is 15 hits. a guy who hits .300 over his career is a better hitter for average than a guy hits .275 over his career. within a season, i wouldnt be willing to say that. you seem pretty smart. you should read this book. I think I have ADD. I bought Curve Ball 4 months ago, and tried to start it, but couldn't make it to page 20. Maybe once I've been in school a bit and my mind is working again I can try it again on a break. It gets kind of repetitive towards the end, but I really liked it. It kind of makes you wonder about baseball when you realize how possible it is to do everything right and lose anyway, and vice versa.
  16. oh, and you have to let me know and stuff tonight
  17. Actually I can't speak for others on here, but last year was way worse than this year. i completely agree.
  18. But the guys who did the comedy bit weren't Krueger. It was a different guy that had nothing to do with the Krueger situation. They weren't already in trouble. They did a comedy bit about a quote that was absolutely ludicrous. Seems par for the course. sorry about that. either way, it's moronic to go near this and make fun of it if you work for the station which has already come out and said these comments were wrong.

  20. He never said that. bruce miles said he indicated as much, and he said so with complete certainty. i trust miles saying that more than i would've trusted an actual quote of hendry saying it. That's fine, the fact still stands that he didn't "say" it, and that Miles could've been off base. everybody knows what rocket meant id be pretty surprised if miles was this far off base BACK ON TOPIC im glad we didnt trade for dunn because that wouldve made me think we had a chance for a week or two and id just be sad now.
  21. i'm not rooting for losses, im rooting for horrific/interesting losses i have the distinct feeling that at least a couple of these cardinal games will be played close in order to increase the pain
  22. once you get to acceptance it's actually REALLY funny
