    i dont care about wins at all whatsoever. if clemens was 0-25 and carpenter was 35-0, but all the rest of clemens' numbers were better, id vote for clemens. any argument predicated on a pitcher's win-loss record is a meaningless one in my book.

    Show me the stats that make Clemens more deserving than RJ? He was clearly not the best pitcher based on stats other than wins. Now Clemens is on the other side of the argument and you think he deserves the award again. Come on there has to be a little common sense used here. And no I am not looking up or referring to your or anyone's post from a year ago. Roger's stats last year: 18-4 ERA 2.98 K's 218 214 innings 1.16 whip RJ's stats last year: 16-14 ERA 2.60 K's 290 245 innings .90 whip this is a discussion of who deserves to win the cy young, not who the stupid voters are going to vote for.

    You think his 4.47 ERA is worth $9 million? It's Hendry's fualt for giving him the contract, and allowing him to have a vesting option, which BTW is only 3.2 innings away now. Were you glad to have Maddux last year at 6 million? The only way we were able to get him in 2004 is to sign him to this contract. It's the nature of the beast. so does that mean the sosa deal was good, since we liked having him at the beginning? how about jim thome?

    if you think the award is biased and just goes to the guy with the most wins, why do you want your pitcher to win it?

    But Vlad and Chone and KRod and Lackey! And I don't care what anyone else says, I call them Anaheim. I feel the need to root for one of my local teams, and I hate the Dodgers, and the Angels rarely play the Cubs, so I feel I can root for them. vlad is cool, if not terrifying. lackey is too ugly to be cool. krod needs to lose his glasses. chone needs to learn to spell and is crazily overrated, though not as much as he would be if he were slow and white.

    i hate mike scioscia nearly as much as tony la russa, and for similar reasons. plus they have the worst announcers in the world. plus garrett anderson has a pornstache.

    that's the first instance of that sentence ever being used in the history of baseball he's 286/308/547 as an A the obp and walk rate are pretty awful, but he can actually play center and it's so nice to have someone on the team who hits for power. i dont know who the heck would be playing cf without him. i guess byrnes, if the trades didnt happen, but cool a's fans always used to refer to LF in the coliseum as "Byrnes' Butcher Shop," so him in center would be pretty awful (some fun byrnes nicknames were "byrnesbum" and "byrnesbrain"). i guess they've always said that swisher COULD play center, but im not thinking thats a good idea either. thank god for jay payton.

If that's true, then Cubs fans are the only ones in America that think that. cub fans and people who believe in legitimate statistical analysis beyond wins. Isn't it ironic that Cubs' fans don't believe in wins?? :lol: :wink: isnt it ironic that i have a bigger ignore list now WINK
