    Dude has some big, big marbles (no pun intended). What kind of idiot would throw thousands of dollars away? Who said they would throw the ball back? Every single person in the bleachers should have been equipped with a "back up" ball to throw back should they catch a home run. Every one of those balls should have had "Suck it, Barroid" on them. big marbles? why? for saying that he wished the fans would actually throw the ball back? if i was in his position, id definitely hope that someone dumb enough to throw it back caught my home run.

    We won't be able to take on additional salary now that we've got JASON KENDALL! Not that we'd need to take on additional salary, because now we've got JASON KENDALL! The most I've heard we're taking on is around $3.5 million. The A's and Pirates are paying the rest. Judging from McDonough's comments, I don't think that will hamstring us. Why did the Pirates trade Kendall to the A's and in particular why did the Pirates take on so much of Kendall's salary for so many years? they've not been paying this much of his contract for all this time. pretty much all of the money pittsburgh sent oakland was this year, the final year of the deal.

    "we would absolutely take a look at it" that's a vote of confidence if i ever heard one.

    the cubs have scored 396 runs and allowed 368, for a projected record of 46-41. the pirates have scored 367 runs and allowed 427, for a projected record of 38-50. also, according to bp's 3rd order wins and losses, the cubs should be 47-40 (a game out of first!), while the pirates should be 35-53. the pirates still suck.
