    that's insane. i was sure it was wrong, but i checked and it's not. he's currently given up 23 earned runs in 6 innings pitched for a 34.50 era. if he threw complete game shutouts in his next 5 starts, he'd have given up 23 runs in 51 innings pitches for a 4.06 era. awesome.

    this thread is the meph equivalent of that one where kylejrm totally set himself up to be made fun of for being a journalist. i think it was the one in which he said umpiring had way too few high-end jobs and way too many people wanting them. in conclusion, jr towels, khalil greene. come on, meph. make an effort. show us something new.

    just to drive people a little more crazy, i'd like to add that i think a computer with the proper data (win expectancies [easy] and your thoughts on the current, true abilities of every player [hard]) could absolutely be programmed to be a better strategist than lou. it'd probably be bad at telling david patton to hang in there and get them next time, though.

    golf everyday for a couple weeks and bask in amazement at how good you are all of a sudden. the 15 year old version of me could beat the pants off of any subsequent version of me.
