  1. dammit, that's right. either way, everything else stands.
  2. Probably not, in part because our douchebag color commentator was allowed to launch on him constantly and no one from the front office bothered to call him out on it. and also in part because the first thing our new gm did was pass on his option [EDIT i'm an idiot, ignore that part. we picked up the option and offered arb knowing aramis would choose free agency] and, at least to all outward appearances, make no effort whatsoever to even talk to him about coming back. it's certainly possible that we considered bringing aramis back and it never leaked and his agent was too lazy to mention it an effort to up his value, but it looks more like we weren't interested in aramis at any price. and at this price, i think that was a mistake. if hendry were here, we'd all be talking about how he was infatuated with stewart and stupidly wanted to trust his scouts and find a diamond in the rough instead of just spending a very reasonable sum of money on a player who has actually had good and great seasons. but i suppose such apocrypha are only to used to describe the inner workings of front offices we don't have cute nicknames for.
  3. PRO we could call him bazooka joe CON he sucks unless his his babip is luckygood because he never strikes anyone out and people can hit home runs off of him i think we should get him. it's a cool nickname.
  4. theo should hire davearm to negotiate contracts. "okay prince, our final offer is 3 years at 10M/year. DON'T BE GREEDY YOU HAVE PLENTY OF MONEY IT'S FINE JUST TAKE IT WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M NOT CRITICIZING YOU YOU'RE JUST LIKE ALL OTHER ATHLETES NOW TAKE THE OFFER YOU'RE LUCKY TO HAVE IT."
  5. Is that saying he was only on 2nd 12 times when a single was hit. That seems insanely low to me. It looks like he tried scoring on a single while at 2B 12 times. He may have gone from 2B to 3B 20 times on a single (made up number based on that not being posted). Reading it like that would say Fielder made 63 outs on the basepaths. if you read it that way fielder's adjust obp is like .030. i'm pretty sure he didn't get thrown out at home 16 freaking times last year.
  6. i assume that you have been extremely wealthy and therefore are able to make judgments about what is and is not stressful for people who have a lot of money? because it sure sounds like you have perspective that none of us have. We all have "stressful" situations in life but I understand my problems are not as bad as what some people are going through. It doesn't mean they are not stressful to me, but I carefully chose my words when talking about them to other people. Did Mrs. Pujols show any empathy toward the employees of the restaurant who will lose their jobs if it closes? Again, perspective is a key word. I think it is funny that you have no problem judging my comments but have a problem with how I judge the comments of Mrs. Pujols. ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME
  7. The guy does take a ton of walks and when he actually does manage to put the bat on the ball it tends to go pretty far. Sounds like a very poor mans Carlos Pena. However, would he really be any better of an option than LaHair, acknowledging that TT is probably the last guy to ask that question to? He's 3 years younger, has been good enough to get 1765 MLB PA's(Lahair: 219), plays great defense, and has a strong prospect background. You don't get him and say "welp, first base is fixed", but right now we have nothing resembling an option for 1B in the system. Our bench sets up well for a lefty bashing 1B/LF type, and Barton can fill that role if they also add a superior 1B option like Fielder or Morales. i like my analysis better, but the point about him being useful with or without a major first base addition is a good one. he's absolutely a guy you can just happily add to the roster and sort out his role later.
